Great observation center to learn about whales and other marine creatures, and even see some from the shore. We observed several whales, probably minke or fin, as well as porpoises from the rocky shoreline. They breached the surface near the shore for a moment. We were fortunate that it was a clear sunny day so it was easier to see the whales.

If it is foggy, it is more difficult to see whales, but still worth a try. July and August are prime months. The guides were informative and friendly. There is a small museum that often has a live stream to scuba divers who show what is underwater. It was not operating when we were there, but there were good exhibits. The centre was free this summer, but I don't think it's free every year. We bought some merchandise to contribute. The admission fee of about $9 Canadian is worthwhile in my opinion. You are supporting a...

I had 0 expectations for this locations and ended up having a great time. I did not get any tickets prior, I simply showed up. The lady at the ticket booth was a delight, she provided me with all the information for this location and proceeded to explain to me that the daily ticket also included 2 other locations ( Cap de Bon-Desir & Pointe-Noire Interpretation and Observation Center ). Since this is a daily ticket, if you want to visit all 3 locations, then I suggest arriving early, if not, enjoy your time here( I spent more time here than Bon Desir ). After visiting, the very informative and interactive museum, I went to sit on the rocks to enjoy the gorgeous views and saw some whales & seals. People also go diving there however i'm not sure how it works in terms of pricing and who can dive therefore, if you are interested, you should...

If I'd known that the larger whales were 300 miles from Tadoussac, I would have skipped the $1000 I spent on the 2.5 hrs whale watching cruise (saw some minke, beluga whales and couple of seals) and that this whole experience was FREE - I'd have come to this center when they opened up in the morning and would have gone down to the rocky outcrop and settled myself there all day, to watch the ocean and the whales as we ended up seeing all the whales I mentioned previously multiple times here, over the once viewed $1000 cruise. Not venting against the cruise, but talking more in favor of this beautiful center...

A must visit for a beautiful setting and kid friendly science and fact based explanations for the marine species around this bay.

Highly...

One of our favourite places to observe the whales! We saw a Minke whale and Harbour seals on our visit. We were there early and there wasn't many people visiting yet so we had a spectacular and quiet view. We could hear the Minke whale come out of the water. Our guide was so informative and willing to answer all of our questions. I wish we got her name because she was fabulous! Our daughter said that was her favourite part of her trip was having her question answered of "can whales eat people?" Our guide was so great with responding to her and even got some props to show what the blue whales teeth are made of. Thanks for also being so great with speaking to us in English!
