I had an absolutely incredible experience at Back 10 Cellars this past weekend — if I could give more than 5 stars, I would! When selecting wineries, I was hoping to find a hidden gem that was family-owned and full of heart… and this place exceeded every expectation.
We started with a tasting of five wines, and each one was better than the last. The Chardonnay stole my heart — so much so that we left with a bottle. The service was just as memorable as the wine. Tracy took care of us and was an absolute ray of sunshine — so warm, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about the wines and the winery’s story. It was such a pleasure chatting with her.
Andrew also came by to offer us extra samples and share more about the winery. The whole experience felt incredibly personal, unrushed, and full of genuine connection — like chatting and laughing with old friends. It was the perfect first stop on our wine tour, and nothing else that day even came close. We honestly wished we had just stayed longer.
There’s something so special about Back 10 — from the cozy ambiance and delicious wines to the kind, passionate team. Bigger wineries just can’t compare. We loved it so much, we came back the next day and brought our family. Again, we were greeted so warmly. Our new server (from Montreal — we didn’t catch his name!) was hilarious, charming, and had us trying the seasonal cocktails. We ordered the cherry spritz and cherry float, and wow — so fresh, fun, and flavorful.
Tracy and Andrew both came by again to say hello, and once again made us feel right at home. You can tell this place is run with so much love and passion, not just for great wine, but for creating a truly meaningful experience.
I can’t wait to come back — and next time, I’m bringing all my friends. If you’re planning a winery tour, this needs to be your first stop. I can’t rave enough about this magical...
Read moreLove good wine? Love a great backstory? (The Brooks wrote their own book about that story - "To Build a Vineyard" ) Head to Back 10! Another of the tremendous wineries on the Beamsville Bench, Back 10, has a small selection of quality wines produced from their own tiny vineyard. Smitten Sparkling was inevitably my favourite from the flight we had, while my partner thoroughly enjoyed the Big Leap (Cab Franc). The flight of 5 wines had a (holidays?) bonus of a sixth sample of the Rose Coloured Glasses (a tasty rosé). Visiting on a cold foggy day, the little cups of soup with bread were a delightful treat. The tasting rooms are cozy and nicely decorated, including paintings from a local Niagara artist, Kathy McBride. I'm looking forward to a warm weather visit to savour more Smitten in the Smitten Summerhouse.
Thanks to the Brooks and all their wonderful staff for great wine and a lovely afternoon, in spite of dreary...
Read moreWe went with a group of gals for a day of wine tasting. Back 10 was by far our favorite out ofthe 4 we visisted. Andrew, the owner, served us and was kind, witty and passionate about his wines. The atmosphere is warm and cozy, you feel as if you're around a table at home with your friends. The complimentary snacks was an incredible added touch and much appreciated when wine tasting! We were also given two additional tastings outside of the standard 4. Every wine we tasted was amazing. I am a red drinker, rarely do I even sample white unless I have to, and left purchasing their Chardonnay, I can confidently say it was the best white wine I've ever had! The overall experience of Back 10 was amazing, I would highly recommend this winery. I look forward to...
