A chance to see two waterfalls and go for a walk in nature!
-Short, easy hikes to the falls -Optional side trails for extra hiking -ruins of some buildings -beautiful walk beside the river -good signage, easy to find your way + you get a map when you pay -small fee -clean and modern bathrooms at the Conservation Centre -optional, higher difficulty level trail--access to Bruce Trail
There is a small, historic village: old buildings clumped together--you can only see them on the outside, it would have been interesting to see the on the inside. I think they use the interiors for weddings and events. I saw some photos in their brochures at the Conservation Centre.
Although the Lower Falls are larger, it is a bit difficult to see the whole scene clearly. There is a fence to protect people from falling off the cliff but there are also trees growing on the other side of the fence that block the view. It would be really great if they built a viewing platform to get a better look at the falls.
The Upper Falls were a short walk in the opposite direction but we could get much closer to them. The path takes you right along the river to the top of the falls. It's amazing to see the water rushing down the sides of the rocks.
I would recommend a visit. It's peaceful and beautiful. We went after a rainy spring/early summer so there was lots of water coming down the falls. I understand that if you go later in the season, the falls may slow to a trickle if there hasn't been a...

We recently attended a wedding at Ball’s Falls Conservation Area, and the venue was absolutely breathtaking , especially the barn and the chapel. The natural surroundings made for stunning photos and a beautiful atmosphere.
That said, there were a couple of things to keep in mind if you’re considering this venue , especially in cooler weather. ✍️The barn is not heated, and even though the wedding was at the end of May, we found ourselves reaching for coats to stay warm. It definitely impacted the comfort level for guests, especially older family members.
Also, the washrooms are a bit of a walk from the barn, which was challenging for some of our elderly guests (in their 70s and 80s).
💡 A few tips if you’re attending or planning an event here: • If your event is during the cooler months (even in late spring or early fall), dress warmly or consider bringing extra layers. • For hosts: If budget allows, consider renting space heaters or letting guests know ahead of time about the temperature. • If accessibility is a concern, it may help to arrange for closer washroom options or support for elderly guests.
Overall, the location is stunning, the chapel was intimate and peaceful, and the barn has so much rustic charm. With just a bit more attention to guest comfort, this would be a perfect five star...

Me and two friends decided to check it out one day and it was a lovely experience. The hiking trails are very large and spacious, with plenty to see on and off the trails. Forested areas contain some remarkably large rocks, many of which are thoroughly coated in long successions of moss and lichen communities. There is also some interesting ruins situated along the slopes beside one of the main walking paths. Biodiversity in this area seems quite high, as even by the busier trails, there is an abundance of small fauna such as amphibians, and plenty of fungi. It should be noted that there is plenty of poison ivy growing around the areas in a few of these pictures. The Falls are dangerous but if you go during a dry season, the entire upper river will dry up and become accessible. This acts as a shortcut across the valley into the hiking trails along the other side, which are rather narrow and with difficult elevation, but are scenic nonetheless. It was inexpensive to park and attend, and it was definitely worth the price. There is also many historic landmarks nearby to enjoy, though on the day of our trip, our party focused on the nature. From the forest to the falls to the river and the rocks, this is truly a gorgeous...
