One of Manitoba’s best kept secrets! Well worth making the trip if you’re in Winnipeg or area, even though it’s a long drive. It’s neat to see the scenery change from autumn farmland to early winter in the Canadian Shield/tundra as you move closer to the 55th parallel. The park itself is beautiful - you get a teaser as you cross Sasagiu Rapids, and can hear the falls before you see them.

Once in the park you can enjoy the falls from an easy viewing platform just a few minutes from the parking lot. Then, head back across the lot to start the hiking trail to get to Kwasitchewan Falls. Its a tough trail. Be prepared, and plan to overnight. They suggest giving yourself 12 hrs round trip, but depending on conditions you will need more. Besides, you don’t want to rush it - take time to bond with the falls. You...

If you're on the road in these parts, it's worth stop. Really nice scenery, decently accessible in one part, ans a cool little 20 min hike over the suspension bridge. There are a few little trails to explore, but the falls and rapids are substantial and the danger is real. There are several little trails off the beaten path, but they aren't suggested due to the very real possibility of death or serious injury. Watch your kids if they're familiar with raspberries, be careful of letting them graze... There's creating deadly nightshade all around the plentiful raspberry bushes.

It's also the starting point for the hike to Kisitchewan falls whice are inaccessible by any means short of hiking or canoe.

Lots of great pics to be had, and an afternoon that was...

Late post but better late than never! Went to Pisew Falls! Wow! Words cant describe how the falls were in person! The pics and vids don't do it justice! Definitely have plans to go back and stay longer! Did the backcountry trail at Pisew and stayed at a site with waterfalls that can only be seen from doing the trail! The trail is bit longer by few km than the app I was using stated! Was fine by me.. got more time in the awesome wilderness!!! The campsite was also prepared by somebody with a chainsaw! Hats off to whom took their time to make seats to sit on! We pitched up on the rapids side! Unless you are a heavy sleeper! Bring ear plugs lolz gets loud at night! The trail had lots of over grown sections but wow definitely...

Amazing falls. When we visited there was still a huge chunk of snow sitting next to the falls...and it was June! There are 3 viewing platforms allowing a good view of the falls from different angles. The walk from the parking lot to the viewing platforms is an easy walk. If you visit the falls make sure you also visit the suspension bridge for an incredible view of the river. Access to the trail to the suspension bridge is at the other side of the parking lot. I would say however if you have difficulty walking, the trail to the suspension bridge may be too difficult. Especially coming back up from the bridge Both the falls and the bridge are worth the visit. Access and parking are free.
