We booked a tour at Blue Beach with Chris on a Thursday morning, and we had a blast! We started the tour up in the museum where Chris explained all the different types of patterns that we’d see in the rocks on the beach, how they are created and which are really fossils and which aren’t. He also gave us a good geological history of the area. The walk along the beach was obviously the highlight. We really got to understand how to spot different formations and fossils, and we even found a fossilized tooth. Chris even managed to engage my 5 year old daughter in the walk, which was pretty magical. Overall the money we spent on the tour and tip was well worth it. Chris is a really interesting dude who knows a lot about fossils and obviously enjoys it. You’ll also get a visit from his cat, Sailor, who is super cute.

Great place to be up close with the Bay of Fundy and a great fishing place for stripped bass

I can't fully put into words what an incredibly cool experience this was! I might be slightly biased as my fiancé is a paleontologist and I'm a geoscientist, but the extraordinary wealth of knowledge that Chris has is unbelievable. We arrived intending to do a quick browse of the museum and walk along the beach, but ended up talking with Chris for close to two hours. He gave us so much information and was so thorough in his discussion of the site and the significance of its finds. When you walk on the beach here, you're walking where the earliest animals took their first steps on land. Incredibly surreal to think about the immense history of this site. I'm so glad we stopped here and wish we could have spent more hours talking with Chris!

Chris and Sonja are some of the most knowledgable people regarding fossils dating back to some of the first tetrapods! They recently partnered with Harvard to continue fossil discoveries, but Chris and Sonja themselves have uncovered over 90 thousand pounds of fossilized tracks, bones, and footprints. Even after all of this, the beach is still covered with them! Chris went down to the beach with us and showed us the differences in fossils and rocks, and never stopped teaching us new things. Please, please visit these wonderful people. They have so much...
