Wedgeport Tuna Museum — Attraction in Lower Wedgeport

This is an annual event held in August at Tuna wharf at Wedgeport. As well as watching the fishing contestants have their Tuna catch weighed, you can visit the museum and find out more about the history of the area and the history of Tuna fishing in the region. In addition to live music in the festival's tent, there are lots of home made, freshly made seafood and barbeque delicacies to be had at a very reasonable price. I was pleasantly surprised. I did some tuna fishing with my father and family a long time ago. It brought back good memories. The museum is well laid out with plenty of room to move around and nice displays. Just got look at that tuna hanging on the wall. Great little place to visit for the afternoon. Was very interesting to hear about the history of the tuna fishery here in the Wedgeport area. I would have never known that there was a International Tournament for bluefin tuna fishing that took place for many many decades in Nova scotia.
