I have edited my rating! I won't lie - the last couple years we when we went it was pretty awful - lifeguards very inattentive, the park was dirty and I do feel the system with patrons carrying the tubes up does not work (it really feels unsafe and it's a lawsuit waiting to happen... also only one exit - anything safety related would be my first priority but I do understand not all 'quick' fixes are easy and I can't imagine they likely haven't ever thought/brought this up themselves). Especially when it's busy and you are just trying to get a tube for that matter, as the system doesn't allow anyone the tiniest bit shy of confrontation to get their hands on one, then people barreling on up over everyone to try and get 3 spaces ahead - maybe the line or part of it could be held back in the open spaces at the bottom of the stairs and let up with only a certain capacity allowed on the stairs? This would be my biggest factor in the final star 🌟!!
I am happy to edit my rating to 4 stars and report that I feel the lifeguards & staff were friendly and much more engaged this season. We felt much safer this year with lifeguards being attentive and the reason we got the passes on our first trip - that was a clear change in our experience this year. Great job on that! The front staff checking patrons in were always very friendly, helpful and really above & beyond in their CS. I will say though it can be very frustrating with season passes as the line can move very very slowly... not the staffs fault, or what to suggest other than a larger spot/more staff to check people in during the rushes, but that's a costly fix. I also wish the park was more secure with a closed entrance and I also wish they had a parking attendant, as you could easily fit many more vehicles if people didn't park like AH's. I think that would be an easy fix for that frustration, even if only for the first hour(s) or so the park is open and the majority of patrons are arriving. The cleanliness is much better, but I do think a few simple and relatively cheap things could make a big difference (like more garbage cans would be an easy solution... people are gross and won't look for them if they don't see it in front of them, not their fault and I did witness staff picking up trash, but no dedicated person). As well just some general landscaping in the busier areas around the rented tiki huts, but I do see landscaping has been a work in progress and the bit they've done is lovely. The rock garden a beautiful and I hope that gets expanded. It is obviously to see they are spending money with more attractions, so they've picked the right poison in my books for their focus. That being said, it would be a small and easy thing to plant a few hostas and lilies around the eye sore areas that would add a bit to the experience. It's nice to feel a tropical vibe in a Waterpark. Also- music! Playing music in the water area especially (they play it at the canteen but you cannot hear it out side of the few spots they play it). It would be an easy and cheap way for your experience to get bumped up another notch!
I will also note the food was fantastic this year (I'm still dreaming about the nachos), and relatively well priced (we are used to Disney pricing) so zero complaints in that area! Lots of spots to eat and allowing patrons to bring in their own food is great - we probably spend more this way as we stay in the park longer and go more often. Also the system for laser tag is great and well done!
I'll also add as soon as I put up my rating at the beginning of the year they reached out straight away and asked me to expand... which I really liked and appreciated very much. Anyone who welcomes criticism is A-OK in my books! Apologies to just getting around to that now. Thank you for the great year, it was fantastic and we had a blast. No questions that we will definitely get passes next year again, and I am very hopeful I will be editing the post again to a 5 star rating with the level of improvements they attained from the 2023 season vs. 2024...
Read moreWe went to Atlantic Splash Adventure today using 4 free passes that I won last year on a Facebook contest. Our family went (2 adults, 2 children, and a newborn) plus my aunt and her two children. My children are 42' tall and the other is 34' tall, the other two kids are JUST 48'. I payed for a pass for my little guy (42' tall), and my aunt had to pay for a pass for her self even though she wouldn't be riding or swimming! We went into the park and headed to the childrens area to start on those rides, the older children were not allowed on because they had the 48' coloured bracelet. They couldn't do anything in that section even though they were JUST 48'. My youngest could only ride 4 rides in the childrens section because he was under 36' tall, wish I was informed that before I bought him a $20 bracelet. They also didn't have enough ride attents so he couldn't ride one of the rides he was allowed on 😒. We went on to the water section since the older ones did all that was available multiple times, the merry-go-round was not operating either. They had a blast on the slides, and son enjoyed the little pool with the little slide. When the two old slides became a pool I noticed multiple times the lifeguard watching was pre occupied giving bandaids, life jackets, talking to patrons, etc. There should have been another life guard working with him because he just looked stressed and there were a ton of kids in this pool. The Tiki huts left a bad taste in my mouth. Your basically paying $80 for shade. An older gentleman who took his grand kids to the pool sat down in one of the unused Tiki huts, the only seat available. There was no sign that stated you need to pay to sit there. one of the workers came over and told him he needed to either pay $80 or leave the hut. He had no clue he had to pay to be in there but the woman was very rude to him.
At the end of the day the passes were free and the kids did have fun but I am writing this review (since I can't on Atlantic splash adventures Facebook page since they have it disabled!) To let other people who will pay $80-$100 to take their family and possibly be disappointed. Hopefully Atlantic splash adventure learns from this summer and fixes the issues before next summer. If that happens we would consider going in the future but at this time I do not think we will be...
Read moreTook my daughter here for her birthday today. She measured 44 inches at the gate, and we were told she would be able to go on most slides, and that either myself or my wife would be able to go with her we bought the 38 dollar ride and slide brackets . When we got to the slides, a new measurement poster showed that she was only 42 inches , so the one on the front gate was not properly adjusted. This means she could not go on any slides, as she was not aloud to ride with myself or my wife as originally thought . When we went to change our bracelets from ride and slide to just ride, we were told they could not do it and it would take at least a half hour for the supervisor to come and refund it. We said we would come back before we left, we were told the same thing when we left.so we didn’t bother getting our refunds from 3 ride and slides to 3 ride only. We lost out on at least 30 bucks. The rides themselves were in very poor repair. The haunted house reeked of mold, there was an old bird nest with sticks falling from the middle of the carousel , the kiddie bumper boats, car carousel , train, truck ride , batting cages and another ride not sure what it was, only half built were all closed . Leaving VERY little for younger kids 3-5 to actually do .The bracelet did not include go karts even though the majority of the rides were not open. I was shocked that this was not included in the price of bracelet basically paying 18 - 20 bucks for the tilt a whirl , a run down Ferris wheel / carousel and bumper boats...that’s all. The new slides are open and do look fantastic but the 2 older ones were also closed. When we went to order pizza we waited in line for 10 minutes only to be told they had no pizza left. We saw boards with nails sticking out, and the general feel for the most part was run down. We made the most of it, my daughter still had a great time in the tiny splash pad area as she made a few friends there right before we left, which saved the day , but from a parent perspective was a disaster. Not the place to take younger kids. I’m sure 7 and 8 year olds love the new...
