This is a great little picnic park but as one other reviewer said, it has no picnic tables. If the park is listed as a picnic park it should have picnic tables. I wonder if it used to have them but doesn’t anymore? No power or water either, although it is obvious that power and water used to be there. There is a sign saying that video surveillance is in effect, but all the power lines have been removed so it’s obvious that isn’t happening anymore. HOWEVER, the park is BEAUTIFUL. Definitely off the beaten track, as other reviewers have said. You really have to look this one up on purpose to find it, which we did on our way back to Halifax from Middleton and wanted the place to have lunch. Fortunately, we had an RV so we could have lunch anyhow, but it would be really nice if the province supplied even a couple of picnic tables. The view of the lake is stunning, and there are two mini-trails, one going toward the lake and one to the road. Can’t really get exercise, but lovely to explore. There are two outhouses in great condition, even during COVID-19 times, and three changing rooms, which are basically outhouse style huts that are empty. We really loved it. What a beautiful spot to find and have lunch and stay for a bit. We say families arrive and go swimming, dog walkers, and romantic couples some and enjoy the view and the grounds. I would recommend it as a place to discover for a quiet break.

If you want a sandy beach, go elsewhere. This is a damn enhanced pond with a grassy area alongside. That being said, the grass was soft with plenty of afternoon shade and the water was ideal for playing around on my paddle board! Water stays shallow a fair ways making this a good place for kids to play in the water, but gets deep quick when you can suddenly no longer see the bottom and I had no qualms about jumping in off my paddleboard!

Today was not overtly hot. It was also in the evening so there was not a lot of people there. My recommendation is not to go around lunch time or even early afternoon. Go a little bit later in the evening after 5:00 and it's pretty empty. This way you can have space to relax and it's not overly crowded

No picnic tables. This is a very hard place to find unless you have a GPS or navigation system. Very out of the way. It is a lovely spot, with toilets, and a set of steps down to the waterfront...But after driving all this way...we were not happy to find no picnic tables were provided. We had looked on the province's website and this was designated as a picnic park with tables. We left here and drove to Grand Pre and had a lovely picnic there...with a...
