Loon Dollar Monument — Attraction in Macdonald, Meredith and Aberdeen Additional Township

This is a great place for a stopover during your road trip. The loonie monument is gigantic and fun to take perspective photos. There are enough car parking spaces and there is also a clean public restroom near by. we also found there was a marshland boardwalk nearby but we didn’t try it as we were already hungover from our trip. Nice monument of the loonie in a small park with a conservation area and wetlands near by. The wetland boardwalk area was closed when we went so I can't comment on that portion of the park. A lot of detail in the coin itself and I found it very impressive that it was identical to the real thing. If you can, come give it a glimpse. Stopped here on the way from Sudbury to Sault Ste. Marie, where I learned that local artist Robert Ralph Carmichael designed the loonie ($1 coin) and was the sculptor of this monument.
