Yesterday day we had the pleasure of visiting Lawrence House Museum in Maitland and it was a great experience. I love all of our small community museums in Nova Scotia, but this visit stood out for us. Our guide Shannon gave us a quick tour as we arrived 20 min before closing. in that time we learned about W.D. Lawrence's achievements, unique shipbuilding and house building abilities, family history and his and family's impact on Canadian shipping industry and the community of Maitland. I honestly can't ever recall a museum curator being so knowledgeable and enthusiastic. This museum is a gem of a place, I hope it continues for decades to come.
