If you are in or near Kensington, PEI, be sure to drive the 10 minutes down the road to this lovely museum. It sits on the right turn-off onto highway 20 along with the community hall and church. Entrance is by donation.The staff are a wealth of information and there is a lot packed in there to see. Very interesting and well set up. The gift shop has a nice variety to choose from. Read moreWhat a fantastic museum! Dot, the curator, is awesome. I messaged a week before I arrived and mentioned that my family had settled in the area.
When I arrived, Dot had collected records of my family and scanned them all for me. Amazing! She even helped me find my ancestors farmstead on the 1800's lot 18 map they have. I was able to track down the current spot, and to my surprise, the road is called "Matthews Road!"
I'd highly recommend dropping by. The scenery outside is idyllic, and the exhibits inside are well put together. There's more to go through than you think!
