If you are in or near Kensington, PEI, be sure to drive the 10 minutes down the road to this lovely museum. It sits on the right turn-off onto highway 20 along with the community hall and church. Entrance is by donation. The staff are a wealth of information and there is a lot packed in there to see. Very interesting and well set up. The gift shop has a nice variety to choose from. The surrounding area, Malpaque Bay, is a beautiful spot. Drive past the church, up the road a little and you can stop for the perfect picture of the bay. Great spot outside to have lunch or a coffee. Make a stop and support local.

A charming little museum with a lot to offer! The collection, donated by individuals or from other museums, covers a range of subjects from shellfish harvesting to farming. Thete are also spme vintage farm equipment outside. The hearse featured om "Emily of New Moon" is on loan here. Take your time gointhrough the extensive collection! Admission is by donation; give 'em a few bucks to help keep them going.

This museum was such a great surprise—way bigger than I expected! It's set in an old church from the 1920s, and the space is really well laid out with displays about local history, shipbuilding, fishing, farming, and more. You get a real sense of what life was like in Malpeque over the years. It’s quiet, peaceful, and a nice way to spend an hour or two. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area

What a fantastic museum! Dot, the curator, is awesome. I messaged a week before I arrived and mentioned that my family had settled in the area.

When I arrived, Dot had collected records of my family and scanned them all for me. Amazing! She even helped me find my ancestors farmstead on the 1800's lot 18 map they have. I was able to track down the current spot, and to my surprise, the road is called "Matthews Road!"

I'd highly recommend dropping by. The scenery outside is idyllic, and the exhibits inside are well put together. There's more to go through than you think!

Highly, highly...

Keir Memorial Museum is lovely. However, I checked your hours here on Facebook before heading there which said Labour Day 10-2, as does your sign out front. However; after I had made my admission donation at 10:19 the boy at the desk said you were open 8:30-10:30 and I only had 11 minutes there? Next time please update your Facebook and front sign hours better so people don’t waste a trip please. Also the boy at the desk was not very...
