If you’re walking to the dunes take double the water you think you need. I took both trails and you are not missing much by taking the shorter loop. There’s lots of cacti to see on that loop and it’s much more sandy of a trail. The dunes are really cool. I went really early in the am late July. Watch out for some ground surface wasps. You can see where they are borrowing and avoid them easily but just a heads up if once you get to the loose dune and kids went running through it. I was solo so I heard them n easily picked paths to avoid on the huge open surface of the dunes. Loved the blooming flowers n seeing the dune slowly eating the forest was really cool. Enjoyed all the info stands. Glad I randomly went. Great outhouse washroom at the parking lot.

We started the day to go on the trail in the morning because we tried to avoid too much heat or exposure in the afternoon. On our way up, there were families and couples with babies, children and pets. The dogs were happy running on the trails and sand dunes. This is a pretty nice walk for family, pets, and spacious for everyone who wants some fresh air, sun, wind and wonders of nature: sand, plants, insects, panorama view on the top

Good for a short day trip from Saskatoon. Not wowing but still interesting and worth the visit. Take time to read the interpretive signs. The 'Head of the Dunes' sign with a map from 1858 is great way to visualize the landscape nearly 200 years ago.

Didn't experience much tbh. Some better signage for the sand dune trails would've been nice but I figured it out. Was a little delusional on how far I could walk 😂 so didn't make it all the way out to them. Will have to return when more things are open and do more exploring. Had a nice hike and picnic with...
