Personally I'd have found it more interesting had the mine not been filled with water, and not entirely fenced off. You can't legally get close to have a good look and get some good pictures. There's a lookout, totally fenced in for picture taking through the chain link fence. No thanks. If in the area I'd say it's worth stopping to have a look. The mine perimeter and the color of the water are something to see, and the history of the mine with some pictures of the working mine are on display. No walking trails, no picnic tables...

It’s a cool historical place. Plaques with information to learn about the history of the mine and great views of the open pit and the deep blue waters. For safety sake, the viewing area is fenced in which is fine but in a way it’s really a shame that there wasn’t a way to get a better view and really a shame that access to the water is not possible. The best unobstructed view comes from climbing the rock pile on the west side of the viewing area, but the angle is better from the...

It is just a big hole in the ground that was a mine. Water is a pretty blue colour but the entire area is fenced off. It is even very hard to take pictures because of the fencing. Not worth going out of your way to see. It is a wasted opportunity for the local community because it could do very well as a stocked fishing pond or for water sports. I didn't dislike it it's just not worth going to see unless you're driving right by it. It's about 900 metres off...

It’s closed but you can take a good look at it from a small hill on the side.
