Personally I'd have found it more interesting had the mine not been filled with water, and not entirely fenced off. You can't legally get close to have a good look and get some good pictures. There's a lookout, totally fenced in for picture taking through the chain link fence. No thanks. If in the area I'd say it's worth stopping to have a look. The mine perimeter and the color of the water are something to see, and the history of the mine with some pictures of the working mine are on display. No walking trails, no picnic tables...

For safety sake, the viewing area is fenced in which is fine but in a way it’s really a shame that there wasn’t a way to get a better view and really a shame that access to the water is not possible. Read moreIt is just a big hole in the ground that was a mine. Water is a pretty blue colour but the entire area is fenced off. It is even very hard to take pictures because of the fencing. Not worth going out of your way to see. It is a wasted opportunity for the local community because it could do very well as a stocked fishing pond or for water sports.
