A really nice place to visit if you are around Masset. Lots of wildlife to see. We were able to see deers just walking past us as if we were invisible. There were plenty of sandhill cranes just on the river bed beside the park. You can use the couple of watch towers to view them. If you are a bird lover, start walking down the trails of the park and you will see plenty. The beach is also very accessible. Just a minute walk from the parking and if you have a 4x4 then you can almost drive to the beach. You can also drive quads if you are into that on the sandy paths of the park. Lots of greenery to be seen including some with really fascinating roots. It was also interesting to see new life growing from fallen down trees. Just show life can start anywhere if left undisturbed.

It’s not closed, just the road is closed to cars but you can still walk it which is a far better way anyway. It’s basically a berm that was built so you can walk across the salt marsh. Bring binoculars, it’s good place to see sandhill cranes (aka large brown birds) and deer. Also saw some bear scat.

Nice walk with some shade and an overlook to view the marsh. Not a lot of information though.
