I visited today with my 6 year old daughter. We come every summer at least once, usually twice. The rides were great, the ride attendants were great (all students and were very sweet and professional), the cafe was great as usual (the staff, food and pricing are perfect to me), but the water slides were a huge disappointment this year. We usually spend most of our time in the water park area in recent years. Today the life guards on duty made a mistake that could have had a much worse result than it did. My daughter waited for her turn to go down the purple curvy slide. The girl attendant at the top told her to go so she went. There just happened to be another little girl still in the slide. My daughter crashed into her in the middle of the slide and both girls came tumbling/sliding down the rest of the way. Neither myself, the other girls parents or the water slide attendants were aware of what was happening in the slide until both girls spilled out into the small pool at the end of the slide tangled together. Both girls were shaken. My daughter had a bump (goose egg) on her head from colliding with the other little girl and the other little girl was crying. My daughter wanted to leave the park immediately. It completely ruined her day. One of the attendants said she didn’t know there was someone still in the slide when she told my daughter to go down. I feel that this issue was caused by the water slide attendants not paying close enough attention. They should have been aware that another child was still in the slide. We love Storybook Park but feel that the staff should be more diligent in their duties so this type of incident...
Read moreGreat place to take the kiddos!! Almost no wait for most of the rides so kids were able to get on rides multiple times, sometimes even just staying on to ride again.
The ride operators were mostly teenagers and no one looked happy to be there. Not. At. All. Thank goodness most kids were too busy having fun to notice!
We went through the mini haunted house. Not too shabby for little kids. We were able to take our wagon through fairly easily, just a few hiccups. The end of it needs an arrow or something underneath the exit sign. It was so dark we couldn't see which way to go with the wagon to actually exit and had to take our cellphone out to use the flashlight.
One major concern we had was in one of the playgrounds near the front entrance. They should really find a way to conceal the base of the slide support before a child trips and gets seriously injured. Not sure if the same concern could be said for the other playgrounds (we only went into the one), but it's definitely a hazard and something that should be addressed...
Read moreSuper clean and kid friendly park. I would say the average age of kids attractions would be good for 3- 10. Any older probably wouldn't appreciate the simplicity of the rides. Price at concession is very reasonable and lots of clean places to sit in the shade. I really appreciate how they have such mature trees that keeps the park very shaded. Being quarters if you'd like to feed the deer or goats. Being water gear for the splash pad and water slides which are generous with their age requirements. My 3 year old could go on all 2/3 slides and had a blast! Well life guarded (when they aren't socializing with their friends which is my only complains! - they are just teens or young adult though). Lots of spacious change rooms and clean bathrooms. You pay $1 extra for the mini putt which is reasonable. A really nice and relaxing day for the family. Lines are short if any and that is lots of staff around. You can bring anything you'd like into the park, so pack a cooler and stay...
