Salsman Provincial Park — Attraction in Middle Country Harbour

It's a very beautiful park with stunning sunsets over the river, and its very secluded as there's not much around. A good place for star gazing as well if conditions are right.

But because the provincial government has cut the budget for our provincial parks there is no full-time staffer available, which really puts a dampener on customer service.

You have to check yourself in at a kiosk over the phone thats available and pay via credit over the phone or by cash which is put into an envelope and put into a slot. Bring exact change if you're using cash! Firewood and ice are paid for the same way and are retrieved yourself.

We got really lucky, and the morning after our stay we ran into a very friendly gentleman who was there cutting firewood, and he told us about the area and what is available to see and do, and a bit about the surrounding communities. This is information that wasn't available...

Amazing Provincial Park. I didn't plan on staying here originally, and didn't have high hopes. The park is small, but beautiful. There is a relaxing atmosphere, and it was a very nice stay. We only stayed one night, but wished it was more. There isn't much to do in the area, but if you enjoy marine life and sunsets, this is the place for you! So many star fish can be found! This is an amazing location off the beaten track offering great views and lots of activities in the park and nearby. It’s a great base for daily excursions to Guysborough, Tor Bay Beach Provincial Park and the Sherbrooke area. Only stayed two nights (after 3 nights in Sherbrooke) but will definitely come back soon.
