I WILL NEVER GO BACK. I live in Delaware, have fished this body of water my entire life and already pay alot of tax dollars to the municipality. Having people pay for conservation usage on Springer rd was the first red flag, the second, was putting up NO PARKING signs along the Carriage rd point of entry. While ice fishing at the carriage rd entry point, a conservation officer told me "you are not allowed on this body of water unless you access the conservation through a designated point of entry"(aka the paid parking on Springer rd). Therefore, this place is now a joke and are only looking for more money. . With all the tax dollars/ paid parking over the last 2 years, I have not seen any improvements to facilities, fish stocking programs or wildlife rehabilitation. Does...
Read moreWe love paddling at Sharon Creek! There are a couple of different launch points here with well kept docks. It’s got a medium sized parking lot right near the docks that can get a bit busy at peak times, so I suggest coming a bit earlier in the day. It’s a lovely creek and a good size for an hour and a half paddle if you’re going at a leisurely pace and exploring. Lots of people can be seen fishing, kayaking, canoeing, and paddle boarding around here. We also saw a bunch of fish and wildlife during our paddle! It's a perfect spot for walking your dog, with scenic trails and the sound of birds chirping adding to the peaceful atmosphere. The open spaces and plentiful picnic tables make it ideal for outdoor meals, and my wife loved feeding the chipmunks. The hikes there are enjoyable, showcasing the natural beauty of the area.
