WHAT AN EXPERIENCE!! My partner and I were lucky enough to visit the park on a day where no one else was around, so maybe our experience differs from other visitors because the atmosphere was very calm. There was no fee to visit this park, and parking our vehicle was easy with the amount of space they provide. The herd of buffalo slowly approached us from across the field and walked right up to the fence (I'm sure they are accustomed to people feeding them hay/ grass). You can respectfully get up close and personal with the buffalo, which we loved. I also appreciate that the herd has a TON of space to run around, so they aren't forced to be an attraction. Read morePark should be re-named since these are bison, not buffalo! Don't come during noon or very hot days- you want it around 20-28 degrees so the bison feel comfy wandering the grounds. Very easy going, come in and park in a grassy spot, walk around the grounds to find the herd. There's a lookout in the middle section, to get a better view if the bison herd is not close to the external fence. Very peaceful, great stop for a half-hour to an hour. No shade or amenities, but really amazing to see on the island....
