Hayward Lake Dog Beach — Attraction in Mission

My almost one year old Aussie isn't much of a fan of water that isn't a) ice cold and b) in her bowl but she just finished her first heat so I brought her here to see if she felt like dunking her poor overheated undercarriage. We had the beach to ourselves for all of five minutes before we were set upon by three big Husky cross dogs, two of whom wanted to make her their puppy mama, and one who just wanted to steal her Frisbee. Dog park about a 5 minute walk away from the main Hayward beach and picnic area. Sandy beach and picnic tables makes it a good spot to come with your family if you want to bring your pets. Outhouses are on site. Small field is located here aswell that dogs can run around and play on. Picnic tables have BBQ stands but the park operators only allow propane, no briquettes. If your idea of a good time at a dog park is mud, water, sand, swimming and birds, then Hayward Lake Dog Beach is for you. Lots of area to explore with your pet off leash - bring your rubber boots as you’ll be better equipped to explore the North West side of the lake.
