I recently visited the Powerhouse at Stave Falls, and it was a captivating journey that blended history, technology, and natural beauty. From the moment I stepped inside, the Powerhouse transported me back in time with its incredible collection of photos and stories that vividly portrayed the bustling BC Hydro owned town that once thrived here. The nostalgia-inducing display of "first generation" household electric appliances was a delightful glimpse into the past.

One of the highlights of my visit with the family was the opportunity to witness a mesmerizing tesla coil demonstration. It was a moment of awe and wonder that both kids and adults could appreciate. The Powerhouse also offers a range of interactive exhibits that engage visitors, fostering a deeper understanding of power generation and its impact on our lives.

What sets the Powerhouse at Stave Falls apart is the unique opportunity it provides to step inside a hydroelectric dam generation plant. The sheer scale of the turbines and generators is awe-inspiring, giving visitors a glimpse into the immense power harnessed by this technology. Once the largest generators with the exception of Niagara Falls.

Taking some time to explore the nearby water bodies and picnic area is highly recommended. It's the perfect way to immerse yourself in the natural beauty that surrounds the Powerhouse. Additionally, don't miss the chance to support local farms along the way, where you can indulge in fresh eggs and vegetables. (Based on honor system, so have some cash)

I must commend the engaging and insightful staff at the Powerhouse. Their passion and knowledge added an extra layer of excitement to the experience. Whether you're a history enthusiast, a technology lover, or simply seeking a unique adventure, this destination is a must-visit. Prepare to be captivated by the power of electricity and the rich tapestry of stories that unfold within the walls of...

Very interesting site and visitor center, our guide Wendy was very friendly, knowledgeable about the area and dam's history and answered our questions very well, and was a wonderful guide! The exhibits, especially the hands-on exhibits, were wonderful. I particularly enjoyed the ones where you could generate electricity by working a contraption and see the electricity light up lightbulbs or power other objects. Unfortunately, some of the more delicate exhibits were not working, maybe because previous visitors did not heed the sign that said NOT to turn on some of the more sensitive exhibits, like the neon light tubes, for more than 3 seconds, which were not working when I went there. Other than that, everything was very nice. It's a great place for children as well, children can learn very much about electricity from both the film shown at the beginning, the hands-on exhibits, and the interactive exhibits they can play with. The history museum was also very nice. Would definitely bring visiting family or friends here! Very friendly and helpful staff, and...
