Location: it’s easy to get to by road. There aren’t really any road signs, but I used GPS and had no problem finding the parking lot.
Parking: there is plenty of parking, and although it’s not free, it is only a few dollars for four hours of parking.
Facilities: there is a nice welcome centre right next to the parking lot with clean serviceable washrooms and dogs are even allowed inside. There are free disposable bags at the entrance to the trail to pick up after dogs. The museum doesn’t have washrooms inside, but there are washrooms very close to it outside.
Aesthetics / Ambience: the whole place is very well maintained and lovely. The buildings are very well maintained and clean. The museum is very lovely to look at, being an old industrial mill with turn of the century renovations done inside. There is also a really nice sitting area beside the museum. Most of the trail follows a stream which is lovely and almost all of the trail is shaded by trees, so even though it was over 30°C the day we visited, it didn’t feel too hot.
Accessibility: the facilities are all wheelchair accessible but the museum doesn’t have elevators so someone in a wheelchair would only be able to access the main floor. The hiking trails don’t really have any stairs to climb, but I wouldn’t recommend attempting the trails with a wheelchair unless you already have a decent amount of experience in trails.
Dog friendly: it is clear that this place (except for the museum) is geared towards dogs. There is a big open field at the entrance for dogs to go run around and get their zoomies out before going for a walk. There are free poop bags at the trail entrance. The stream is accessible for dogs in several locations and it’s shallow with a slow current so there is little risk of a dog putting itself in danger by...
