This is an absolutely beautiful beach. We stayed the day and it was lovely and quiet but definitely family friendly. They have a section that is monitored by lifeguards during posted hours. Before you go on the boardwalk make sure you read the board with all the postings and information (for example, the day we went was too windy for any beach inflatables). The washrooms were very clean and the boardwalk was nicely maintained. One downfall is the poison ivy, there are plenty of postings and as long as you stay on the path you should be good! Read moreWe love this beach for swimming! The water is pretty warm for Nova Scotia in the summer (usually 19ºC and above) especially around the end of July and through August. The sand isn't the best quality, it has small rocks/pebbles in it so you may want to wear water shoes. There's no shade so bring an umbrella.
