I've been here several times in the past and had enjoyed thoroughly the walk and trail!
But this year, I have noticed that the establishment has grown in size and unfortunately in greed as well. We needed hands-on help bringing our two toddlers so I asked my sister to join with my husband and I. I didn't realise this would enforce the "purchase" of an additional llama, which would completely defeat the purpose of asking my sister to help. Both children wanted to be carried, leaving my sister with two llamas to walk. This felt unsafe and completely unnecessary. Most llama walk establishments allow additional adults for a small fee, which I was willing to pay for.
Due to their lack of compassion, we are NEVER coming back. I highly recommend Verger Champetre instead. The staff are super helpful there and the outdoor space is bigger for the animals to roam.
In response to the owner's reply, I want to clarity a few points.
I undersntand that the alpaca to human ratio is explicitely writen online, but I was hopping for an exception for the safetly of our small children. Perhaps a 6yr+ warning should be made explicit on their website. We also didn't expect the children to want to be held, and not walk the trail. This is what promted the tag along of the extra person.
I am not sure why the ownwer's reply is refering to the surveillance video of our ineratiction. They make it seemed like it was heated argument. This was not the case. We ended up respecting their rules and my husband left. Without the extra walk, the was was quite difficult. In that case, I recomment families with small children to not visit this place.
-They claim the alpaca to human ratio is placed for the safety of their alpacas. I do not entirely believe to be the case. I believe this is financial greed because 1) I have seen many alpaca walks allow for the addition of extra adults and 2) Since we could not reach an agreement, I asked for a cancellation: They immediately replied with:' 'Did you pay for the cancellation insurrance". There was not even an attempt to find a compromise to...
Read moreWe had such a wonderful time visiting on Easter Sunday! It was the perfect way to spend the holiday with family. My two nephews especially loved the Easter scavenger hunt â it was so thoughtfully put together and kept them entertained and excited the whole time. The walk around the property was peaceful and beautiful, a great way to enjoy the outdoors.
The alpacas were absolutely adorable â incredibly soft and gentle! It was such a treat to get up close with them. If you're visiting in colder weather, I highly recommend trying the hot chocolate.
A huge thank you to the staff, who were genuinely kind, accommodating, and welcoming from start to finish. Their warmth made the experience even better.
I 100% recommend this activity â it's perfect for families with kids, but just as fun for adults. Whether you're an animal lover or just looking for a unique outing, this...
Read moreThe staff were friendly and very clear with the directions to get around the farm. (My husband is learning French, and even he was totally able to follow along with their French instructions.) They gave us excellent instructions on how to safely handle the alpacas, specifically on what to do if they get spooked or are feeling stubborn. The staff corral and separate the alpacas in a very gentle way, and the whole heard looks happy and healthy. The grounds and pens are clean, and the forest trails are clearly marked. I would definitely reccomend this as an alternative to a traditional petting zoo. The animals get gentle outdoor exercise outside of their pens, positive human interaction, and breaks away from people to relax with the herd. We will gladly come to...
