Navette fluviale Mtl-Boucherville — Attraction in Montreal

After enthusiastically biking a full 10 km with the intent to board the river shuttle to the Boucherville Islands, our day took an unexpected and disappointing turn. To our surprise, only one-way tickets were being sold due to the return boats being at full capacity. Given that the Boucherville Islands cannot be exited on foot or bike, this left us in quite the quandary with no feasible way back to Montreal. Sadly, we had to cancel our day plans at the very last moment, a frustrating conclusion to what we expected to be a fun summer day.

The charm of summer visits to the Boucherville Islands lies in their spontaneity, especially with unpredictable weather conditions. The idea that customers should plan and purchase tickets weeks ahead is unreasonable. We’re looking to cross a river, not plan an international getaway!

I have fond memories of this service representing effortless, spur-of-the-moment adventures. Sadly, that seems a thing of the past. There’s a clear need for improved organization, increased boat availability / cadence, and above all, transparent communication.
