Date of visit Sat Aug 5th Fun and engaging local history museum. Many times we drove past this museum, and said – we should go in. This day, we feel like the universe decided it was the day we went in. as we approached, we said – if it is open, we go in. As we got closer, we noticed several signs indicating that it was free admission day. So, of course we had to go in. The history of Dufferin region is on full display here. From the agricultural and pioneering days when it was first settled, to the industries and businesses that found their home in the region. There is a room dedicated to the CornFlower glass company that was a huge business making gorgeous glassware throughout the century. We explored every inch of this museum and it was a lot of fun, very informative, and interactive. We did the scavenger hunts, which made it even more fun and entertaining. The museum staff are very friendly and informative. It is a great museum that deserves to be experienced. So the next time you are in the area, just stop in – do not drive on.

An absolutely amazing experience visiting here today. I learned so much and enjoyed all of the exhibits. I loved the little nuances that each of them had including the cosy sound of someone humming and cooking in the kitchen with recipes left by other visitors. If you are planning on visiting, bring a family favourite with you - I’ll be sure to bring one next time - such a lovely detail. The Cornflower Exhibit is stunning and wonderful for any glass lovers out there. The Art Exhibit at the top was a beautiful showing of the talent that is out there. I highly recommend!

I was extremely disturbed by the propaganda and dishonesty at the Dufferin Museum - fear-mongering with a new covid display as the very first display; the unscientific blaming of mankind for "climate change;" the mainstreaming of Black Lives Matter for black history; and the capitulation to gender fraud with the signs on the Museum bathrooms that threatens human dignity and safety by allowing men to use women's bathrooms.

This museum is a charming and enjoyable outing, especially if you’re interested in local or communal history. It’s a great spot to explore for an hour or so, with interesting exhibits that offer a glimpse into the past.

The only downside is that there are no food options available on-site, and nothing nearby within a 10-minute walk—so plan ahead if you’re looking to grab a bite.

Overall, it’s a worthwhile stop for a short,...
