Saturday May 1, 2021 - We began the Sunrise Trail at around 11:15am. there were several other hikers there, and the trails are definitely dog friendly !

The Sunrise Trail is washed out about 2kms in, with Barricade Signs. So we continued on to another connecting trail. There are tons of lookout points along the way that give great views of the Valley.

The trail path itself is very maintained and easy to walk, however be prepared for C.A.R.D.I.O - Tons of Inclines, and for Manitoba - it was. nice change from flat prairies!

We had a small/medium dog breed with us, and he handled the trail well, however I recommend bringing extra water on a hot day, as the trail is mostly in the sun.

We got back to the parking lot at around 1:30pm, and finished at about...

Would be 5 stars but there are some trails that are closed. I'm guessing it was because they were washed out by the flood this spring. My only issue with this is that it is not posted on the trailhead map so I ended up on a couple of unplanned detours and backtracks. Everything that crosses the creek on the north side of the park is closed at the nearest intersection. So stick to the south side and central trails for now (fall 2022).

The fall colours were out and quite lovely when I was there. Great views from the lookouts, especially the tower.

Bring proper hiking boots/shoes. There is quite a lot of elevation gain on the trails with some rocks and roots...

The hike is perfect but watch out for ticks, they are soo high in number at this time. If you're using 'All trails' for information on the hike it's not accurate. The pembina rim trail is almost 7km but it is closed, it seems weird cause no where it's mentioned close but when you walk for an hour you will reach a barricade saying it's close. There are no maps (flyers) available at the spot so download one. The water level is very low so the streams are almost dry and dripping.

  • water is available at the location, not drinkable tho, run the pipe before using cause while using I saw a tick...

Pembina Valley Provincial Park, Manitoba Visit Date- September 2023 Pros: -trails, lots of them, if you like trails this is the park to visit. Trails range in variety and length and are suitable for most adults -trails are well marked -very quiet -beautiful landscapes - photos don’t do it justice -only about half hour from Morden -very clean and well kept -nice look out points scattered throughout the trails Cons- -minimal amenities (couple outhouses, and a few fire pits) -no overnight camping -not overly children friendly Overall- Recommended visit.

Autumn in Pembina Valley Provincial Park is nothing short of breathtaking. The park comes alive with a vibrant palette of reds, oranges, and yellows as the trees prepare for the winter months. The crisp fall air is invigorating, making hikes through the park’s trails a delightful experience. The valley views adorned with autumn foliage are picture-perfect, providing countless photo opportunities. Whether you’re looking for a serene spot to reflect or an active day of exploring, Pembina Valley in the fall is a must-visit. A true Manitoba gem!
