Crossing the Confederation Bridge for the first time was an unforgettable experience! This engineering marvel, connecting Prince Edward Island to the mainland, is not only a vital transportation link but also a stunning testament to Canadian ingenuity.

The history behind the bridge is fascinating—it opened in 1997 and spans an impressive 12.9 kilometers, making it the longest bridge in Canada. As we drove across, we were captivated by the breathtaking views of the ocean and the surrounding landscape. The design and construction story added an extra layer of appreciation to our journey.

The experience was smooth and enjoyable, with plenty of opportunities to stop and take photos along the way. Learning about the bridge's significance and the challenges faced during its construction made the crossing even more meaningful.

If you ever have the chance to cross the Confederation Bridge, don’t hesitate! It's a remarkable experience that showcases the beauty and history of this incredible region. Highly recommend it! Heads up it costs $50 to cross and return to New...

At 8 miles long, it is the longest bridge over ice-covered water in the world, making it a uniquely impressive feat of engineering. The speed limit on the bridge is 80 kilometres per hour (50 mph). It takes about 12 minutes to cross the bridge. Before we crossed to Prince Edward Island, we visited two great view points from the New Brunswick side. At the foot of the bridge, in Bayfield, we walked down a boardwalk near the ocean, through coastal forests and marshes. The land around the boardwalk is undisturbed. The path eventually connects to a nature centre. Cape Jourimain Nature Centre, located at exit 51 is much more than just a gift shop and restaurant. You can broaden your knowledge by learning about the construction of the “Fixed Link” from New Brunswick to the Island in an environmentally-friendly building. Plus it is the perfect spot to capture a snapshot of this magnificent engineering marvel. We wanted to catch another view so walked under the bridge to the other side and could see it stretch for miles into the...

Love the Bridge. Something to go across that's interesting. Free to get on PEI but going to charge you to get off. Lol. One of the longest bridges in the world. It's already paid for. But the Island needs income. A lot of potatoes and canola. But the Bridge is better. More reliable and passable than the Ferries when I lived there. Though I do miss the ferry ride back and forth. It added a sence of adventure to the trip to New Brunswick and back home again. Which can still be enjoyed at the other side of the island in to Pictou . At a higher price of course. . Nothing comes cheap thats an adventure. Have great time in PEI. Be wise when it comes to spending your money on seafood. It's over priced and not properly cooked in PEI 80 % of the time. Trust me. Spend more and get better. Not always the case. Stay away from the tourist traps. Meet the locals . Talk to people. They well help point you in the right direction. If you talk to me I...

The Confederation Bridge is definitely quite the sight. Standing at 12.9 km, this is the longest bridge in Canada and arguably one of the most scenic as well. I’ve taken both the ferry and the bridge to P.E.I and this is so much more scenic and beautiful. Even on a weekend and with construction on the bridge, it wasn’t that busy at all. Even when traffic got heavy, the views made it worth it. The only reason I docked a star off this review is because of the toll you have to pay on the way out of the island. You pay a $50 toll for a car which is kind of insane. For visitors and tourists it may not be so bad for a one time thing, but from what I understand, even residents of P.E.I have to pay the same $50 toll every time they leave which seems very unfair. All in all, it’s a very scenic way of getting to P.E.I and is a nice experience. Not bad for a once in a lifetime kinda of thing.
