Very disappointed in my experience with Croisières Shediac Bay Cruises. I called ahead to kindly ask if the tours were welcoming to assistance animals. This was a simple yes or no answer. I spoke to Denise Leblanc who responded to my inquiry in a very unfriendly way, suspicious of me lying and unsure if my assistance animal was valid or what their policy was on service animals. She reluctantly asked me to send an email with the appropriate documents. I sent the email right away and she did not reply. I sent a follow up email to ask if she'd received it and she answered saying: "we will have to refuse the dog on board for safety reason and insurance policy. We are sorry about this but we need to be sure of safety on the boat." When I asked if she could provide documentation on why a small assistance animal (6lb trained dog) was a safety hazard and to include the clauses on her insurance policy she simply did not reply. For those considering booking who have unique needs I do not recommend this company. They appear to be discriminatory and rude, and went out of their way to waste my time when knowing full well they were planning to reject my request. I recommend steering clear of this company as they need to learn how to respectfully deal with members of the general public. If I could give zero...
Read moreToday I was part of a Road Scholar travel program spending a gorgeous late afternoon on board a Croisières Shediac Bay Cruise at Shediac, NB. The manager Emery was a blast. He demoed how to catch, crack and eat a lobster. This gentleman had humour built into his bone. He was informative and educational, and rollicking fun to top it off. The lobsters were fresh and incredibly tasty. The crew was eager to please and embodied service with a smile. I was going to pay for a ginger ale but Stephanie, a charming young lady in the crew, suggested that I hold off since dinner was about to be served and my soda would be included in the meal. A small matter but it reflected business integrity. All those and an exhilarating ambience made for a uniquely memorable culinary experience and an ideal ingredient of a vacation in the...
Read moreIt's a fun experience, a little formagey at times, but it's fun. I was confused about the assigned seating they established, no one told me prior to boarding the ship, and I sat down at a table, but apparently, there was a sticky note at the end of the table telling you were to sit. I would encourage them to let us know prior to boarding to reduce confusion and movement on the boat itself. I enjoyed meeting new people at our assigned table, and learning about lobster fishing and eating in this area. They made it interactive and asked for volunteers through the process. The Lobster and potato salad were delicious. It's a fun event to do if you're in the area. They have alternative meal options if you do not wish to...
