I think this is one of my favorite places in Canada so far. I loved this park! Watching the stars in this park was incredible! We are a family of 5 that camped in a tent for 4 nights in loop 1 of the south Kouchibougauc campground. The bathroom/shower area was located a short walk along a path from our campsite. The bathrooms were clean and the showers were nice and warm. The showers are push button and stay on for less than 1 minute so you have to continuously push the button to keep the shower going. Having hot water outweighed that inconvenience though. The only downside of loop 1 is that there are no water taps located from sites 1 to around 35 you have to head toward the bathrooms through the path to get water. A minor inconvenience though. Kelly's beach was fantastic. So clean and lots of space for everyone to relax. There is a small area that is supervised by lifeguards for a portion of the day but there is tons of beach space and swimming. The boardwalk to the beach is a bit of a distance but crosses a marsh like area with lots of wildlife. Make sure to cross during the day and at sunset is especially beautiful. There is a canteen prior to crossing the boardwalk to the beach which was a bit pricey but great service and decent canteen type food (fries, poutine, hotdogs, hamburgers, icecream, etc). An area called "Ryans" boasts laundry, a store area and trails. The laundry is about 3 washers and 3 dryers. We didn't use them while we were there but they looked fairly old. The store is closed down. There is a place to rent bikes in this area as well. There is an area called Callenders Beach which is a lagoon area. The water is very warm in this area. We bought 2 adult permits at the visitors centre to harvest soft shell clams and dug up an abundance in this area. It was so much fun and they were delicious. The permit for one day is 4 dollars per adult and kids did not need a permit when with an adult that had one. You can harvest 75 clams per permit. Our kids swam while we dug for clams. The horse flies are bad in this area though so be prepared. The visitors centre was very nice, super friendly and helpful staff. There is a lot for kids and adults to check out and explore. I cannot say enough good things about this park. It was beautiful, relaxing and so...

Read moreWe went this week and stayed at one of the "equipped" camping spots. They were supposed to have dished and all the gear you need, but due to covid the only thing there was a tent, a few cots and a broken propane stove. I called Sunday before we left to confirm what would be available so we could pack appropriately and was told that dishes for four, a cutting board, can opener, mixing bowl and sleeping mats would be provided, but none of that was there when we showed up. Because of this, we were completely unprepared. The staff were not helpful at all. We went to the gate to tell them about the broken stove,. They said they would send someone over, but no one ever showed up. I could have brought my own stove and all the gear, but when they said it would be available and something I am paying for them I expect it to be in working order. We had lots of food and no way to cook it other than over an open fire. Their website showed pictures of the prospector tents and showed floors that appeared to be a part of the tent. It looked like they would do a good job at keeping the bugs out. When we got there we found out that the tent was placed on a wodden platform and was full of bugs and spiders. There's no where at the park to buy water other than small 500ml bottles from the canteen. The staff said we could fill our water bottles from the bathroom sink, but there are signs posted everywhere saying not to drink the water so we didn't want to chance it and drove 30min to the closest store.
The trails were nice, but the mosquits were pretty bad. The trip would have been better if we were better prepared, but when I called to confirm I was told we would have...
