Gaspesian British Heritage Village — Attraction in New Richmond

A very cool place to visit to see colonist homes from the 1800 and eat 1900's. It is designed to look like a village much like the L'Acadien Historique, however it is closed up for the time being. You are welcome to still walk around the site and take photos but all the homes and buildings are locked up. It looks like it needs some restoration work, but I still quite enjoyed walking about there, it has an old feel to it, and it is very quiet. Interesting place found on Google maps. It would be a real tourist attraction if things were not in such an abandoned state, dirt roads, no defined parking, etc.. The general store was closed when we visited, as there were price tags on the display items. There is a short walking trail to the lighthouse by driving further in towards the rotary club and parking anywhere...

Big potential for a nice historic village, but lots of money and work required. As of July 2023, there are 2 - 3 buildings to visit. Free entry. Suggestion: To start, set up a few picknick tables, open 5 to 7 houses for visitors, make a coffee/souvenir/antiques shop, offer tours for visitors. Rename the place to...
