Well I had such an amazing sleep at the other lighthouse I was at last night I thought I would do it again here. Omg this fog horn is super loud and it's going off every 10 seconds. I don't think I'm going to be able to sleep here I'll have to go back down into the parking lot. Piece of advice don't sleep beside this lighthouse. Guess I should have listened to the sign. But the views are spectacular. No sunset tonight. Compared to last night's sunset wow that was gorgeous. But tonight must be too foggy but there was no sunset. The information center that's here is free of charge. Right now they're open until I think she said 8:00 or 8:30 p.m. Google is got the wrong times on there that's not open 24 hours and it's not closed at 4:30 not yet anyways I think she said the end of September they close at 4:30 or maybe the middle...

Visiting Cape St. Mary’s Ecological Reserve is an extraordinary experience, especially for bird enthusiasts. The reserve is one of the most accessible spots in North America to observe a diverse array of seabirds up close. With birds like the Northern gannets, black-legged kittiwakes, and common murres nesting in large numbers, the reserve offers a spectacular display of nature at its most vibrant. The sheer cliffs and the iconic Bird Rock provide a dramatic backdrop where thousands of seabirds can be seen engaging in daily activities just a few meters away. The interpretive centre offers insightful details about the area’s ecology, making it not just a visit but an educational experience. Whether you’re an avid birdwatcher or a casual visitor, the beauty and uniqueness of Cape St. Mary’s make it a...

But so what, it is a light house on the top of a giant cliff.

And while the job it provides may be considered to be outdated. It still has performed a vital service for decades.

When I was visiting the fog was so thick that the light house was almost impossible to see from any reasonable distance.

As such this one was using its fog horn and doing the best it ...
