Smokie Ridge Vineyard — Attraction in North Dundas

What a great find! We stopped on our way back from camping as we passed some signs. We were greeted by the owner as well as Pat. Such a warm welcoming feeling. We quickly found out they are bilingual as well, which we appreciated. We received some of the back story on the vineyard and the brewery. They were attentive, polite and kind. They tended to our children as well. We lucked out on lunch, because they had a pizza menu (though I don’t think they always have it available)They have a play structure, but Smokie deduced to set up a bouncy castle as well, since he « already had it out ». The beer was great. I highly recommend the porter and the jalapeño beer. Their cheeses are really good as well.

All in all, a fantastic detour. You can even camp on the vineyard.

This was the second time I had an event at the vineyard and it was phenomenal again. The first was for a friend's birthday party in the summer where we got to enjoy the outdoor experience of the vineyard. Smokie and his family set us up for a wine tasting and delicious lunch. The setting was absolutely beautiful! Because of the great first experience, I organized my work Christmas party at the vineyard. Given the cooler weather, Smokie set us up inside and the experience was just as lovely as the first. Beautiful table settings, extremely engaging guided wine tasting and interesting tour of the vineyard. I highly recommend visiting the vineyard. Stroll through this peaceful place. Take your time to enjoy the sweet sounds of nature amongst the vine rows. We did and will go back. This couple graciously welcomed us even though we appeared on a Thursday.

After our walk they opened the big tent for us and we sampled a cheese plate, including their own wine/cheese sample. We weren't rushed at all, and were so very grateful to sit and enjoy the cool breeze in the heat.

Their honey is wonderful. We bought a jar and the flavour is like no other. We will definitely go back to sample their sweet wines.

This couple fully supports other local businesses, and will be opening a small market there...
