🌟 Awesome Experience!

This was the best provincial park we've visited so far near the GTA, 4hrs drive away. We stayed in the cabins, and everything was perfect. I highly recommend it for a group of friends or family. Here are some helpful tips:

🏠 Cabin:

We booked a cabin that felt secure and safe, equipped with electricity and heating. Here are the amenities:

🍳 Kitchenette: Microwave Hot water heater Mini fridge/freezer Wash basin Chopping boards Trash can

🛏️ Sleeping Arrangements: One queen bed One bunk bed (double and single) Mattresses provided Ceiling fan and lamp included

Make sure to bring: Bed linen, blanket, and pillows Towels Trash bags

📶 Cellular Service: Only Rogers has cellular service in the area.

There is no water line in the cabin, but tap water is just a 2-minute walk away. A portable washroom is nearby as well.

🚿 Main Washroom: The main washroom is a 10-minute walk away and is clean and well-maintained.

🪵 Outdoor Amenities: Next to the cabin is a large table and a bonfire area. You need to bring or buy firewood, which is available for sale in the campground.

🌅 Scenic Views: The view from the cabin is spectacular. Downhill from the cabin is the lake, where we went fishing and actually caught a few trout. 🎣

⛵ Canoeing Adventure: We rented a canoe for a day, and it was amazing! We saw pictographs painted on the mountain rocks thousands of years ago.

🗺️ Hiking: Be sure to use the map and go hiking. There’s a trail we discovered that is only accessible by canoe. The trail was easy, but the views were breathtaking, overlooking the entire lake.

❤️ Final Thoughts: We fell in love with this place and can’t wait...

Oh my gosh go here! My friends and I went camping here this summer and it was amazing.

Making sure you book the right site is easy through the website and our site was great and as advertised. It was big, private, close to the water with a bit of a view and good quality soil for putting up a tent.

The views are absolutely stunning, this is one of the most beautiful places you will go camping in Ontario.

Good activities like canoeing and kayaking, lots of hiking to do as well!

Other services like the general store and whatnot did not have good hours, at least they didn't in June and were closed almost our entire visit. Showers were clean.

There are 3 types of bathrooms: one like an outhouse 😬, the other is flush toilets; just a toilet and a sink, so bring a light and the last one was the comfort station with showers. The comfort stations were clean and preferable to use over the other 2. The flush toilets were as decent as a dark bathroom with cold water could be lol.

There are stores relatively close like a HomeHardware and a President's Choice grocery store only 10-15 min drive away.

The staff were nice and friendly and helpful with questions. When we went there was a really bad storm and potentially a Tornado. Staff were great at keeping calm and informing people of where the safer places they could go. Because of the storm, our 7-day trip got cut 2 days short as our tent got destroyed but the staff were good and understanding with us and we got refunded the last days.

Honestly its a great...

Beautiful, large site with plenty to do. Not quiet or radio free. Three short hikes, and I only did one (cliff top), but it's a favorite. We recommend renting a canoe or bringing a watercraft to do the hill too hike and see the cliff paintings. The sites are large, clean, shaded and unique. I look forward to trying other sites. The fire pits have a cooking grate and they all have picnic tables. Facilities were clean and nice. There's several spots to shower, get water, bathrooms, and garbage/recycling. Place to buy ice cream, coffee, supplies, etc, as well as a small museum. The vibe was quiet, friendly, and respectful. Employees were helpful and happy. Only problem we ran into is that they only sell wood after noon. We didn't have another way to cook, and it had rained ALL night. I had to just collect wet dead wood and tee-pee it over my tinder in hopes it would dry. Luckily, I made it happen, and we ate. But it would've been a long, hungry morning if I didn't have the experience to light the fire. EDIT - 2nd visit - both nights, a speaker and subwoofer from a campsite atleast 100ft away was rocking our campsite. This entire park is radio free, however it isn't enforced by the park staff. They patrolled the site once a day, it seems, and didn't stop the music. These campers would play music at 11PM and later, and begin playing before 8AM the next day.
