The portage through here is a bit janky but James the park warden makes up for it. After a long and treacherous portage me and my friends took a dip in the water near the boat launch. We were having a jolly old time and ended up chatting with James the park ranger. Super nice guy. Soon after, James leaves to tend to his park ranger duties and we walk back to check on the rest of our group. While walking to our group James stops us in his car to let us know that the group was struggling so he took their boat and gear and is driving it to the end of the portage for them. Before we even had time to understand what James means, he’s off with our boat strapped onto his truck. What a delight! Our kids were so happy to not have to carry the heavy boat in 30 degree heat!! James if you’re out there OSL 1/2 thanks you from the bottom of our hearts

Very narrow road. Difficult to get pass another vehicle. The launch is tricky with large vehicles. There is a couple of blocks in the water because there is a drop off from the rest of the concrete launch pad. If you don't land on both blocks it makes things difficult. There is a current and it you don't go straight out there is a large rock nearby. The place is very nice once you get past all that. Lots of small mouth bass and pike.

Beautiful rustic lake with many bays and hidden gems to explore. The water quality is very good due in part to the lack of any major boat traffic, agriculture or cottages. It is truly a paddlers and fishing paradise. Many boat-in camp sites dot the lake. There are no services nearby so, come prepared.
