Like many others, I walk my dog through Domminion Brook Park every evening, and I think it is a wonderful space.
An important thing to remember is that this park is maintained by volunteers and not the City, so that on its own speaks volumes about the effort to have it looks as it does.
The "Dry rock" Bridge is incredible, as seen in my photos. Small but picturesque.
In periods of snow it is a toboggan run, in the spring and early summer there are beautiful rhododendron in bloom and there is one area being rehabilitated that dogs are not permitted in so I have never been in that space.
The only thing I feel keeps this from being a 5 is the lack of amenities. There is a picnic area, but it is well off East Saanich Road, and well seasoned shall we say. There is one Porta potty that I have seen there, which would be busy if you were holding a large picnic. There is also very little parking given the size of the Park, but I always walk there so that doesn't impact me.
To wrap it up, a wonderful large space that is very picturesque much of the year, just a few amenities missing to be 5 star Park. My heart felt appreciation for the volunteers who maintain this space. Job well done.
