Drop in for $4 for a look at antiques, photos of Sheguiandah colonists, relics of the old Anglican church, mills, and creameries. Occasionally art shows. Handicap accessible. Kids areas. Outdoor playground and more exhibits. Restrooms, air conditioning, and seating available. Picnic tables, bike racks, gorgeous gardens, and accessible gazebo.

Arrange via the website a tour of the Sheguiandah Archeology Site for $30 (comes with ticket for the museum too!) This easy hike can be done by children and those with canes, but not wheelchairs. Has steps and gentle incline on stone. Learn about how Sheguiandah has been inhabited for 4500+ years. No special gear needed. Great views of unique quartzite ancient quarries.

Lewis Trail- more strenuous. Self guided. Hiking stick, good shoes, water, needed. Accessible from the museum. Fantastic view of Bass Lake! Rope may be needed in muddy weather on some trails but...

Very nice small yet unique museum honoring the historical elements and people who existed throughout the centuries on Manotoulin . It is a great 1st stop to learn about the generational influence on the island. Names and locations then give reference to historical events in these places. Enjoyed the artifacts and personal items connecting the past to the present. The smaller cottages were also unique as I felt like I entered a genuine home from centuries ago...even smelled like it was from that era lol. Amazing place and lady at the front was very friendly. A...

Did the archeological tour, AFTER exploring the museum and by happenstance, meeting one of the exhibiting artists. Chris and Meredith were knowledgeable, funny, real and full of passion for their work. So patient with all our questions and stories.

The tour is worth the time and the pacing is well done. As the trail is a safe footing trail, but uphill all the way. The natural pacing of the stops were perfect and we never felt taxed by the climb.

Hardest part was putting picked up rocks back on the ground rather than the usual practice of collecting...

A good collection of antiques gathered from residents in the area that displays what life was like for the early settlers, but the highlight was the walking tour to the archaeological dig site that revealed the source of stone tools used by the first indigenous people to arrive and settle the area.
