I lived in Pincourt growing up, so I'd frequently visit Pointe-du-Moulin park on the weekends.
The windmill is the main attraction but it's really just as worthwhile to visit the park for the swamp (which has walkways over it), small creeks, and views of the St. Lawrence River, Lac St. Louis, and the downtown Montreal skyline in the distance (with Lachine in the foreground from this vantage point).
When I was a kid, there was also some spectacular autumn foliage for the final kilometre or so of Boulevard Don Quichotte approaching the park east of Boulevard Perrot, but not so much these days since that golf course was built, but there are still plenty of trees within the park.
If you don't mind the swampy smell, Pointe-du-Moulin Park is one of the best places in the Montreal area to have a picnic lunch while watching...

Read moreAlways a nice relaxing walk. The park is closed to cars until May but you can walk around no problem. It was a bit muddy on some spots but for the most part the trail is pretty dry. It’s not a big walk, probably a km at most. It makes a nice change from walking around residential streets. In the summer there are tours at certain times and you can rent boats. There are bathrooms but we didn’t check if they were open...
