I stayed in a tipi! Nice dark sky red lighting! There was a fore bam but they had bbqs for use! The tipis were great and while it got pretty cold at night they seemed to hold the heat well! The down side to the tipis is you need to cart your stuff up a hill. They have a cart for this that has nice large wheels and makes it really very easy but I didn't realize this before I got there. Lots of friendly folks lots of good hiking paths and there is even a park shack that has food and eminities if needed.

This is a national park that is clearly off the beaten path. We took a paid tour with Brenda, one of the park rangers and this was the highlight of our short visit of the park. Unfortunately there are some mosquitos, especially during the evening hours, which made our stay shorter and less enjoyable.

This and the West block are hidden jewels in south Saskatchewan, a little disappointing that the roads were closed, but still enjoyed the experience of being here, I will definitely be back

We recently visited Grasslands National Park's East Block for a day trip before heading to Frenchman Valley Campground in the West Block for an overnight stay.

Despite our initial concerns about the unpaved roads, the journey was absolutely worth it. Upon arrival, we parked at the start of the "Badlands Parkway," an 11 km driving tour through the stunning badlands. We decided to explore it by bike, and it proved to be a fantastic ride. The route is relatively flat, but we used our e-bikes' power assist on a few sections.

The parkway is dotted with several viewpoints, offering breathtaking vistas at every turn. The views along the entire route were simply spectacular. According to the park literature, wildlife sightings along the parkway can include bison, coyotes, rattlesnakes, and numerous bird species. While we didn't spot any larger animals due to the 30°C heat, we were delighted by the abundance of birds, some of which seemed to accompany us as we rode.

After completing our ride, we visited the Rock Creek Campground in the East Block. Although small, it looked like a fantastic place to stay, with electric sites and potable water available during the camping season.

The views from the campground were just as impressive as those along the parkway.

Grasslands National Park's East Block offers a unique and captivating experience, and we highly recommend it to anyone traveling...

I would vote 5 stars but, on the parks Canada website I saw no indication that this was a new under construction campground. As per the website there were wash stations, which was essential for our 1 week camp trip. It was just not easy to wash our dishes and cookware, and there could have been more notice. I would have camped anywhere with parks Canada for my week camping trip. So there for I can only afford them 3 stars.

It's so beautiful being away from everything (depending where you're from that is). But the newly opened badlands parkway is beautiful the hiking is beautiful the flowers are beautiful! I also feel the park is geared towards seniors or an older group anyways. There's lots of warnings about hiking and getting lost, I mean I don't know how you could possibly get lost in the prairies, but I guess that's the Toronto in me talking.

The staff though we're fantastic, they provided us with a great star map as you can really see our universe from here. But special mention to Melanie and Cora Lynn from the visitor centre who helped boost...

Visiting Grasslands National Park was a great way to cross Saskatchewan off my bucket list. The park offers stunning prairie landscapes and a serene environment, perfect for a peaceful getaway. The wide-open spaces and unique wildlife made for some beautiful photo opportunities.

However, while I enjoyed my visit, I wouldn't go out of my way to return. It's a lovely spot if you're nearby, but there are other destinations that I find more compelling. Nonetheless, for anyone traveling through the area, it's worth a visit to experience the natural beauty and tranquility of this...
