Great place for a hike. I like the different terrain the trails take. Flat and open, up hill, down hill, rocky , roots sticking out, canopy, big trees, river. Quite and pristine. This is definitely worth a visit, if you like hiking and the outdoors. Only negative thing as many people have mentioned. The STUPIDITY of putting the parking lot at the middle of the trail. Having the parking lot at the head or tail of the trail makes more sense to me. The parking fee of $5.25 for 2 hours is just a money grab. I also understand that funding is required to maintain the park. I am not happy about it but willing to pay for the maintenance. What I am most upset about is the fact that you have to type in your license plate when you get your parking ticket. WHY ?? If i have paid for 4 hours of parking and only used 2 hours and want to give my ticket to somebody else, then i should be allowed to do that since have paid for the whole 4 hours. Money...

It was a nice trail and the woods are beautiful, lots of varied habitats and terrain with some nice views. However... like many of the other reviewers, I agree that the parking fee is kind of extortionate for $5 for 2hrs. If you're going to charge that much, have the trails be better marked and better maintained. I get that it's a national park, but there were some marked paths that led us into some completely wild areas. The trail markers were all over the place and at one point we got lost and turned around at the west end of the park - we had GPS and a photo of the map at the beginning of the trail, but both proved completely useless and unreliable. We almost were late coming back because we got so lost, which would have been additionally frustrating if we'd gotten a ticket for going over our time. If the trails could be better maintained and better marked, that would somewhat make up for the very high...

Unlike most of the other reviews here, I was not quite as impressed with this place as other visitors were. First of all, there's no maps anywhere along the trail that explain where to go or which trail to follow. It's very easy to walk for several KM's before having to turn around and go back the way you came. Secondly, if there were scenic areas along this trail, I must have blinked and missed them. There were a couple of openings through the trees that you could see a small bit of the river below but that was about it. Lastly (unless I missed something) there's nothing here but trees and plants. That's what it is , a hike on a dirt path in the woods with very little else. If that's what you're looking for, it's perfect, but if you're looking for a relaxing walk along a scenic trail with lots to do and places to sit and enjoy the surroundings, I wouldn't...

2 h parking for $5.25 seems a bit steep. Park is close to an urban center and main trails are well worn and wide. Finding vistas of the river in an otherwise flat landscape is pretty neat. Wildflowers are abundant (as is poison ivy!!) and plant variety is extraordinary. Today's hike at 32 C through open meadows required sunscreen and water. The loop from the parking lot , taking a left turn onto the white trail (going southwest along and down to the river), following the bend of the river, going up a flight of stairs, jumping on the orange trail to avoid the red trail close to the road, to meet the blue trail and return to the parking lot was as exciting as you can wish for. Very different habitats and plant communities, from wide and road-sized trails to rickety, old "boardwalks" to narrow goat trails through hip-high meadows. Very fun but very sweaty!

Amazing Park and Trail, very clean and dog friendly. Some of the views are absolutely breathtaking. The boardwalks are well maintained and only one small 10 foot section was muddy, which could be difficult to traverse for some other trailer walkers. Great hike for everyone! Unfortunate that the trail “requires” you to make an account to use. I have no issue support our local / provincial parks and trails and I’m happy to donate to them. I do have an issue supplying my home address & other personal information to sign up and walk outside in nature. An easy solution to would be to have a parking meter or even an attendant taking donations if it really is that important to regulate the parking.

Nice place for a walk, pay parking now unfortunately through a phone app. The money goes towards stewardship of the land and facilities tho so not a big deal. Washrooms on site. Beautiful hardwood trees, follows the Thames river and is an important home to many species. Great for bird watchers, lots of opportunities for wildlife viewing if you take your time and stay quiet while walking. Pause every so often to look around and listen, you'll be amazed at what you can see. Make sure to bring water and snacks but please pack out what you bring in. Leave only footprints and take only memories. Happy hiking.
