Visited in August 2023 (on a weekday) and would definitely come back. Atmosphere: The beach is really nice and quiet. The water was very clean, although (as expected) a bit chilly. There is a small shop/restaurant that we didn't visit as we just brought our own food to eat on the beach. The sand was nice and mostly clean; with a bit more maintenance, this beach would be pristine. Parking: There are a series of at least 6 parking lots as you drive down the road. You can't miss them. At around 12pm on a Tuesday, there were still plenty of parking spots, but I imagine on weekends, it gets a bit busier. To ensure a spot, you can reserve a parking pass online. Parking is super close to the beach, so you can easily access your car throughout the day. Washrooms: The washrooms are outdated outhouses. There are a few of them along the beach in the parking lots. Given the expensive parking fees, they should direct those funds to renovating them.

On July 25 2024 while visiting North Beach Provincial Park my uncle of 82 years had a terrible health scare. Having cardiac problems and a pacemaker, he started having breathing problems and thoracic pains. We feared the worst and called ambulance. Before the ambulance arrived, 3 park wardens came to his aid. They helped calm him down and reassure him. They also escorted the ambulance to where he was and escorted them out. After a visit to the hospital, and a good nights rest, my uncle was adamant about returning to the beach. To our surprise, 2 of the park wardens recognized him, and came to see how he was doing. My uncle will forever be thankful for their help and kind words. Thank you park warden Kohl Martin and Moynes (I believe the 3rd one was Rogers we did not get to see her again) for making the horrible scare as best as it could be.

This beach is ok. You can walk the entire length within 20 mins. You need to book online in order to visit during the open season. When it’s closed (offseason) you may park on the street outside the gate & walk in. Washrooms are closed during offseason. So, if you live close by & just want to walk-in, you have to book online too. You’d need a parking pass, if driving $ & you’d need to pay per person! Not worth it. Go to Sandbanks, if you’re paying. Don’t park outside to gate (or on the street) if you’ll get an insane $400+ ticket! Town’s way to say Stay Home & Never Visit! Dogs are walked there often. Families are there too. The beach opposite Lake Ontario (around back) is calm & seems less windy. It’s nice for kids to swim.

Title: A Delightful Getaway at North Beach, Prince Edward County!

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5 out of 5 stars)

Review: North Beach in Prince Edward County is a perfect destination for a relaxing day out with friends or family.

Finding a parking spot at North Beach can be quite easy if you arrive early in the day. The main parking lot near the entrance tends to fill up quickly, so I recommend arriving before noon to secure a spot. Alternatively, you can also find some overflow parking spaces a short walk away, so don't worry if the main lot is full. Just follow the signs or ask the friendly staff for directions.

The beach itself is absolutely stunning, with crystal-clear waters and soft sand. It's an ideal spot for sunbathing, swimming, or simply enjoying a leisurely stroll along the shoreline.

The park surrounding North Beach is well-maintained and offers various amenities, including picnic tables, washrooms, and change rooms. It's evident that the staff takes great pride in keeping the area clean and welcoming for all visitors.

If you're planning a visit to North Beach, I highly recommend bringing along some sunscreen, beach chairs, umbrellas, and plenty of water to stay hydrated. Don't forget to pack some beach toys or games to keep the whole family entertained!

In conclusion, North Beach in Prince Edward County is a hidden paradise worth exploring. At sunset its breathtaking I can't wait to...

Incredibly frustrating experience at the North Beach Canteen. Quite a long line, that we waited in for 15 minutes with our young children only to be next to order and have the Park Rangers step out and tell us no more orders would be taken. There were several families behind us who had been waiting just as long. Apparently the canteen stops taking orders 10 minutes before they close. There are no signs that indicate this and the staff did not socialize this with anyone in line, they just let everyone wait then had the park rangers come in to “enforce it because people often get very angry”. I guess so! There are so many ways this situation could’ve been avoided. A simple sign that states they stop taking orders 10 minutes before close, or having the staff socialize that before people get in line or asking the last person in line to put a closed sign behind them similar to at the grocery store when your the last person through the check out. It is clear there is a problem here because they feel the need to call in park rangers to help close the canteen, I think any of the suggestions above would’ve improved the situation, and avoided a lot of the frustrations. A bummer ending to an otherwise great day...

Very important. The Sandbanks beaches, including North Beach require reservations which are available on line. We regularly see people being turned away. North Beach is a fine consolation prize if Sandbanks is full, which it was today. About 20% of the size of the main Sandbanks beach. North Beach is a long thin line of land surrounded by water on both sides. You have a choice of the breezy lake-facing beach (mix of pebbles and sand), or the more sheltered inner lake with warmer water (all sand). Not as much shade available as Sandbanks. Same sort of sand bars as Sandbanks out in the water on both sides, though on the lake side you have to walk over a painful row of rocks to get into the water. The sand bars keep the water near the shore warmer for kids to sit and splash about. Unlike Sandbanks, there is a little snack bar with hot dogs etc. The salted caramel ice cream from Reid's Dairy was yummy! The outhouses are really stinky (no flushing toilets) but nicely cleaned, and had running water and soap. For a more quiet day at the beach than Sandbanks, with warmer water, highly...
