In a bone chilling cold February, we visited this Gem of an outdoor Art Gallery. Outdoor art in the starkness of a winter's day, can be a balance between an internal struggle against the cold elements and an outward joy of sensory delight. A truly interactive experience. This Gallery is a must when you're visiting Prince Edward County-Bloomfield-.Vera is the Art Curator for the exhibits in and outdoors. An absolute pleasure to discuss the spectacular art that comes from the area, for sale, and boy I wish I had the room. I really enjoyed the walk in exploration and appreciation. This is something that is always worthwhile, alone, with your spouse-my beautiful wife in this instance, children and family. Make it your destination for topping-off your satisfaction of art or to experience something new. Say Hi to Vera, she's the best. Some destinations are worth a detour, and this gallery is a perfect example. My 500 km drive to find it was more than justified. As someone familiar with art galleries and contemporary art, I often find commercial spaces to be somewhat underwhelming. I didn’t expect much from a gallery set in a vineyard, but I was pleasantly surprised when we stumbled upon it.
The gallery itself is a hidden gem. The garden surrounding it is filled with beautiful and well incorporated pieces set the stage for what’s inside. The selection of artists is eclectic, intelligent, and incredibly talented.
Discovering this gallery felt like an unexpected delight, and both the gallery and its garden left me thoroughly impressed. Thank you for this wonderful experience—it truly...
Read moreThis is a beautiful gallery set in a vineyard and with a large and heterogeneous sculpture garden extending around one side. The list of contemporary artists, in various media, is first-rate. My own favourites include Simon Andrew, Lynne Fernie, Aron Hill, Peter Hoffer, Ciba Karisik, Milly Ristvedt, and Otto Rogers. The prices, as in the restaurant across the parking lot, are visitor-friendly. The excellent web site will convince anyone who needs convincing that a drive to Bloomfield (or, as I call it, Al Purdy country) will be rewarded. I drive up from Toronto every couple of months. A lovely place, friendly staff, and a spectrum of pleasures for the eyes both in and outside...
