This place is pretty convenient. Havent camped overnight yet just been there for day trips. Pinehurst is close enough to KW to be convenient and far enough away to feel like your actually getting away. Concession stand and washrooms are very hand and close as well as the parking. The attendant was helpful and knowledgeable. Parking is close and always seems to be just enough. Only real complaints are that there could be a couple more spots of shade on the actual beach of the lake and that there is quite a bit of seaweed. Not sure if this is just this year or not but it seemed rather abundant. Always a good idea to bring some cash with you even though there is plenty of spots to set up for a nice picnic. The trails are nice and mowed where needed. Bugs and mosquitos were brutal last trip out so bring the repellant with you. Driving through the camp sites there seems to be a little lack of privacy though you can find the odd site that is back off the path enough and has some undergrowth still grown in. Gets a bit crowded during peak times so be prepared to...

I spent a weekend at Pinehurst Lake Conservation Area just to check it out and was pleasantly surprised by all it had to offer. While there, I took the time to have a short canoe paddle around the lake; while very small, was still a pleasant experience where I ran into some friendly folks enjoying the same. I also hiked all ~10Km of hiking trails through some very diverse forest. Morton and Captain Kidd trails are all Carolinian forest and some easier (still some good hillls) but very interesting hiking, while the Pine Grove trail is all re-planted forest of Pine with some big hills.

My camping experience was also quite good. I was located in area 1 on an unserved site which was very specious and plenty flat for a tent. There wasn't a ton of privacy but for the most part my neighbors were respectful and non-intrusive.

This is still an urban camping experience (can hear cars at almost all times) but a great location to get out in nature and enjoy a weekend away without having to travel too far. Highly recommend checking...

Convenient location, where you don’t have to do the nasty trek in traffic up the 400! They have plenty of electric and un-serviced sites, situated in nature forest. There are also a variety of hiking trails on the property. The day use beach area is beautiful! Plenty of picnic tables in the shade in front of the beach. The beach itself is large, soft sand that’s groomed daily. The lake is still quite warm with a sandy bottom. There’s a small gas/variety store just outside the park entrance where you can purchase super dry, small cut firewood. Going the other way on the highway, Paris is only an 8 minute drive with plenty of restaurants, other amenities and a large Sobey’s. Park Security drive by frequently.

The only negative is that you can hear the traffic noise in the campsites from the highway. It’s not overly loud, but definitely noticeable.

If you’re looking to do a quick weekend camp, this Conservation Area is perfect. We will definitely be...
