Repeat quiet and courteous camper here to this park but yesterday will be the last time going here...

I was there for a 2 day camp trip for my brthday with my sister and my little niece whos just a young quiet teenager. We were polite and courteous and have always been to other on the site as I've been there a few times before and loved it. Hence booking this year . We helped out a group of young campers by allowing them to use the electrical outlet to inflate their camping gear when they didn't have an electric site. We bought ice and other supplies at the store and the lady was polite as with the young lady at front. The laundry room seemed to be out of commission though . The site was damp but doable and had partial sun and shade for the pets . I usually give great reviews but we were harassed by a lady who entered the campsite with her trailer.. while we were packing .. to tell us to hurry up. She was 30 mins early and proceeded to come up to disrupt our time and space with her young kids and tell us were were supposed to leave by 11 a.m. We weee trying were already packing the cleaning around 10:30 that morningc. Check out is 2pm. She kept coming back a few times to harass us .. she was rude and disrespectful and was bullying us... my sister and my niece were so upset that we had a hard time taking down the tent in the heat and I was just exhausted being in the heat and trying to keep the furry family members cool from the heat. While trying to get water to drink The warden then came by as we were leaving the campsite , to also harass us...

I was so upset .. after being so kind and polite to people and campers there this was how my family and I left . in such a bad and awful emotional state and it ruined my birthday... I just couldn't believe the park allows this type of harassment and to be spoken to rudely when we followed all rules.. and did not ditrub anyone . My past experience there was always good.. this time it has changed my mind of going back there.... it's a beautiful place. Not perfect but decent .. but if you run into these rude people and staff.. it will ruin your trip ...

Regardless ... no one should be harassed by others ( by staff or other campers) while they are there . especially if they are just regular campers.. who do no harm to anyone. .. there was serious disrespect .. it was so disturbing to encounter this from both security and a random person. It ruined what should have been a peaceful and fun experience for us.

I've camped many times over the 40 years at different camp grounds and this was the worst...

NOT WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE. Dog friendly. (First thing I look for in all reviews and posts.)

The provincial park is great for a regular camper, family camping and for RV camping. But it is not wheelchair accessible in anyway except for some of the bathrooms and some of the sites. It isn't a teenager/adult party campground.

It's below par for an experienced camper. -The trails? Or lack thereof are sad there's two, the one I used was lead to a deer nest and a section of the beach. I did see some deer and turkey on the premises. Although, I can't say for sure if it was a local farmers turkey.

The washrooms are decent. The camp grounds have comfort stations and kbo bathrooms (toilet seat ontop of a hole in the ground). They are maintained regularly but, the bathrooms by the beaches aren't maintained or used at all. The bathrooms in most places are wheelchair accessible but do not have automatic doors or ramps.

The grounds are maintained decently by a lawnmower and weedwacker. Be careful of walking barefoot and with your dog because of weeds.

The park officals are seen regularly througout the days that I was there.

The beaches are great, although it's a rock and sand beach. The water is clear, depending on the weather there is waves. There is no life guard.

The beaches and the dog beach are not wheelchair accessible. A stroller or buggie yes but, not a wheelchair. For my case, I'm strong enough to pull my mother backwards across the grass to the beach. Although, due to the slope and the sand she couldn't go further than the grass parking lot / picnic area. She was also unable to use the bathroom the entire time she was there. The bathrooms at the beach are not wheelchair accessible.

Improvements that need to be made for this campground. Wheelchair/stroller/buggie access to all the beaches and washrooms, including automatic doors. A simple plank board or board walk to and from the parking lot and beach. It doesn't have to go in the water, it just has to reach the sandbar. This will not only open up your users but, your general clientele. Disabled, disabled with guide dog, young families with strollers, families with disabled and seniors, who use walkers and canes.

There is room for improvement, Considering this provincial park is aimed towards inexperienced/ experienced...

Myself and a group of friends went here June 1st for a birthday party. It rained in the evening and became extremely muddy on our campsite as there was no grade. This left it impossible to just walk around our campsite. Making the most of it we conversed and listened to music by the campfire. At 10:20pm the park staff came around and stopped at our site. We kindly asked what was wrong and they said we were being too loud and that there was too much garbage on our site. This came to us as a shock as we were not being loud and it was not even 10:30pm yet. Questioning the garbage I actually asked them to show me what garbage they were referring to. I said we would get it in the morning but they wanted us to clean it right then in the mud and dark. If we didn’t they stated we would be fined and possibly kicked out. They asked if I had ever stayed at a provincial campground before. I responded yes I have as I have gone to turkey point several times without a problem. They responded that I should know the rules then. After they left we cleaned up the one cup and paper towel ,and turned the music off in our dark pigpen. By morning nothing was left without a coat of mud. These people were not empathetic on the situation we were put in. This site was the worst I have ever been at. Trying to make the most of it we put up with it. Then instead of politely talking with us the staff dramatize and rudely throw their authority around. They should have these campsites closed if they cannot provide proper grade for drainage in a light rain. This and the staff ruined this birthday. I will never go to this...

Parks good, nice sites, friendly staff and other campers. Spent 6 days here with a family of five from June 18th to June 23rd. Also have my in-laws and my other friend. Making a total of three separate families on three separate sites. Park is easy to navigate and find your way around in. A few days of rain but not the parks fault. Although some sites did get rained out due to flooding. And if you don't have a camper you wouldn't be able to tent it on the sites that were flooded. Bugs were manageable, no ticks for us at all. I was not a fan of the beach. Once in the water the shore is nice and Sandy but the Rock's on the beach leading to the water are brutal and prevent children from doing anything on the beach itself. Hard to walk on. Also the outhouses could use some updating I feel, but this could just be a personal thing. The campsite store was having some issues with Staffing due to being in the off-season . And it is not open very often . At least it wasn't while I was there anyway. Two separate camper dump areas and two fresh water fill stations. The size of sites in the park vary greatly. some campsites here a lot larger than other onez in the same park. which didn't affect me but once you know the park you will probably pick something more appropriate to the equipment you're bringing . I also found out the hydro was a fair distance from the camper. I had a 50 foot cord and it made it but I had to extend the native cord that comes with the camper I own about 10 ft just to tie it in . Other than that great place and I will go back.
