Horrible experience we got here from a little incident at the Cafe& Grill. Systemic racism is real, and it's on open air here, seems to have been an okay thing among these local folks for years now that we found similar posts complained about that same restaurant. That specifically included some of the wardens in the park aswell (such a shame cuz most of them are very nice friendly, helpful, and considerate people, but unfortunately, one or two individual can ruin the entire squad reputation). There's a clown that made a fool out of himself, took side base on his personal preference regardless wrong or right, try to scare off victim with his big words& authority power. His tactics including wasting time take note back and forth from the dillusional lying cashier girl, who thinks she entitled so much that she provided him multiple twisted versions of the story that still make no sense, he disregarding her remarks about intention to discriminate "these kind of people", he ignore& refuse to actually check the CCTV camera behind the counter which would of clarify& resolve the matter, he make up issue threatening issue charges, ID check...etc, threatening to remove and ban, threatening to call the OPP. After rentlessly defending all her false accusations, wasting so much time& effort just to realize in the end that her interpersonal problem was the cause for all the absurd fussing and discriminating, the warden decide to "peacefully" conclude all the lying b/s that the cashier been feeding him as some sort of confusing accident, tiny misunderstanding, they offering to give me back my money like joking around giving candy to a little kid. The future is concerning, consider there's quite a nice clean beach that our Canadian multicultural communities gonna often visit. Imagine driving all the long way here, paying the required entrance fee, contributing the tax that funding this whole park operation, but getting mistreated becuz they laughing seeing "others unlike them, this kind that kind of people" differentiate and deal with you...
Read moreA unique beach located within the Sandbanks Provincial Park, which is known for its high sand banks overlooking the lake. The beach has great views thanks to the sandbanks, and provides photo opportunities because of it. There is also food and refreshments on site to accommodate a day trip on the beach. For those looking to do a short hike, there is a trail attached that goes through the various sandbanks in the area. There is some space in shaded areas which is good for a picnic.
Recommended for those looking for a beach trip outside of the city as an alternative to Wasaga Beach. Some things to look out for: parking to the beach is limited (fills up quickly) and the day permit is $21 so come early to get a space. As well, because it is part of the Provincial Park, parking for this beach is not clearly indicated on their map but there is parking available albeit limited. Weekends are the most busiest, as the park fills up quickly before noon and...
Read moreOverall this is definitely a beautiful site to visit in the park, but given it's popular attraction, it's also getting alot busier, alot faster! If you plan to come on the weekend, you need to be there before 10 am easily to be guaranteed parking for day use. The lot isnt that big, and there are pay machines to buy a ticket for your dash once you park inside.
Overall while the beach is a nice place to hang for a few hours, it's not as great as the other 2 in the park. You only right now have another 4 - 5 meters of sand to walk on before there is a drop off down and alot of vegetation that your feet behind to touch. If your a strong swimmer and dont mind going past that point, be prepared to still have some weeds touch you. I know for some people this does...
