This was our first time trying the "ready to camp" experience and first time in Mont-Orford. My experience was great on both fronts. Mont-Orford is beautiful and the camp staff we met was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. There are a good number of activities to do. The Jaseur campground was clean and well set-up. The only downside is the proximity of the tents. I usually camp with a tent in the wilderness (not sepaq). You definitely won't fell alone in nature out here. However, it has some worthwhile pros. Tent was much bigger then I expected. There was also no black flies or mosquitoes when we went (end of August) I would recommend the experience for families with kids, people that are new to camping or anyone looking for a quick nature getaway that's comfortable but doesn't require full camping gear. ||||Main pros: you won't have to pack much and you'll be very comfortable||Main cons: proximity of other tents, no music allowed, curfew at 11pm||||Content of the ready to camp tent:||- fridge||- table and 4 chairs||- 2 kettles, pots, pans, cooking utensils, corkscrew, dishes, wine glasses, cups||- toaster||- small space heater||- lighter ||- garbage bags and recycling ||- dishrags and oven proof gloves||- tray for dishwashing, soap and sponge||- 2 mattresses raised off the floor with 4 pillows (easily sleeps 4 adults however tall people will likely have to sleep at an angle)||||Outside the tent:||- secure box for dry food outside the tent (racoon proof - we didn't see any) ||- fire pit with grill||- 4 plastic chairs||- 2 burner stove with propane included||- picnic table ||- bathroom with shower and sink to wash dishes (shared)||- wheelbarrow to bring your stuff between your...

Read moreWe decided as a family to go camping on the Lac Stukley side. Considering that the campsites are relatively new, I was impressed with them, knowing that in 2 to 3 years those sites will be very private. Beautiful hiking trails, great for bike riding. Next time we decide to go, we will be sure to go during low season ( May, June, Sept ). I'm not a big fan of having more than 500 people on the beach, were used to being pretty much alone. That being said, we do have some negative issues: The one that really bothered us the most is if you were camping for the weekend you were NOT ALLOWED TO PARK YOUR CAR IN THE PARKING LOT WHERE THE BEACH WAS!! This was reserved for the people who came for the day. Now, we all paid the $8.50 entrance fee ( I have no problem with that ) it's just that our site was 1 km away. Try bringing 6 chairs, 2 coolers, 3 beach bags for a Km..NOT FUN.When asked if we could bring the car down for a minute to unload, we were sternly told NO and the fellow pointed to a sign ( which ALL the signs were in FRENCH, except one which I saw in the 4 days we were there ) Another thing is that everything is sooooo expensive, 2 bags of ice $10.00.(IT'S FROZEN WATER), bought 3 ice cream sandwiches for my grand children $ 16.00. Nearly lost my mind. And of course there was the signs that were only in French, I'm perfectly bilingual, but that isn't the point..I must have had to translated 20 times to different tourists who weren't able to figure out what the signs said. You figure you want to attract tourists, maybe have the signs in at least 2 languages! We will definitely go back, but will bring my own frozen water bottles ( just as good as ice ) and won't be buying anything...
