I have taken my kids to Chappell farms, every year for Halloween, for 15 years. I don’t normally mind paying more than if we just went to the grocery store, because it’s the experience and I would prefer to support local farmers. The last few years, hasn’t been as good as the years prior. However this year takes the cake. We are paying for an experience, as well as a quality pumpkin. There is not much for entertainment anymore (for example, no more haunted house). The corn maze (which wasn’t much of a maze to begin with, but it was perfect for the littles) is now a sunflower maze and you can see everything so it doesn’t even “feel” like a maze anymore. The pumpkin picking was a joke, it was almost as if the pumpkins were placed there (not to mention how tiny the pumpkins were - which I know is not alway in the farmers control), but then to bring them home, just for them to be completely rotted (yes I kept them outside) to the point that I went to just gently touch it and my finger went right through before I could even react, LESS THAN A WEEK AFTER WE GOT THEM ! We didn’t even get a chance to carve them! We paid over $70 (not including the additional money we spent on food) for 4 people to get in, for a complete let down (other than getting to see animals) and rotting tiny pumpkins. So then, to make sure my kids had actual pumpkins to carve for Halloween, I had to spend additional money to buy some from a grocery store. In my opinion, it was completely a waste of time and money. Honestly felt like I was being pranked because of how bad everything was. We will NEVER...

I am not one to normally write a review but after yesterday experience I left feeling very upset. Going to Chappell farm has been tradition with my family, as a child I would go and loved it, and now I bring my own daughter. Yesterday, we travelled from Muskoka to get our pumpkins and as an honest mistake I had dropped my tickets. Which should be totally understandable getting money out of my pockets for food for the animals and ourselves and my phone for pictures to capture the memories. Anyways upon leaving after spending an hour or so in the field searching for pumpkins, the lady in the gift shop asked for our tickets, I had explained and apologized I dropped them in the field. She responded with "go back and get them would you" (as this could've been a joke, however, it was not interrupted as one). I laughed it off and she then continued with "well what do you want me to do" ( with a rude manner). At this point I showed her our stamps and that we had paid our almost 50 dollars to get in. She shrugged her shoulders like that meant absolutely nothing. she then rolled her eyes and said "happy thanksgiving" and let us go with our pumpkins. It was an honest mistake we dropped our tickets I am sure we are not the only ones to do so. We should've left Chappells farm in a happy mood, however even my daughter was left feeling not happy and discourage. This use to be a fun family tradition and a great way to get into the Hallowe'en spirit but, not after...

Worst experience! Such rude staff, rude and unwelcoming owners. From the moment we walked in the door. We booked online for a 5pm ticket. States very clear you get 2 hours. However... you tell us you close at 6,and we pay for a full 2 hours. WHY have the option online to purchase a 5pm ticket and not be fulfilled the 2 hours. Yet we paid the exact amount as everyone who got 2hours. We were told that the last tractor ride was at 5pm. We were not in anyway informed that you can only choose a pumpkin on the tractor ride! You CANNOT pick their pumpkins at the door, those are apparently buy only. Not with your tickets that include a pumpkin. When we were leaving at 6pm and was so rudely informed by this. The owner tried to tell us that we were informed of this(which we were not) after standing in silence and such disgust of this man. We had to ask again what we were to do to receive our pumpkin(as he states that the pumpkins at the front he doesn't just pick for anyone) He proceeds to tell us that we can WALK back to the pumpkin fields and pick our own. With children from ages 2-5.??? This establishment is to be family oriented. A place like this should not treat people with such disrespect at the cost that you charge. We will not ever be back and will be sure to spread the word of how unpleasant and the disgusting staff who work there. Chappell farms should be ashamed of themselves for treating people so poorly. Just disgust....

I’ve been to Chappell Farms two years in a row for their pumpkin patch! The entry fee covers the tractor ride for travelling to the pumpkin patch, as well as one pumpkin to bring home. You’re also able to wander the farm and pet their farm animals (including goats and cows). They have a peacock, emu, chickens, and other animals to see, too. Make sure to bring cash to purchase ice cream cones to feed the animals! They have food trucks with warm meals and beverages, free magic shows for children and families throughout the day, and other fun things to do around the farm. During the autumn months, they also have a corn maze, which my friends and I thoroughly enjoyed The recreation room for their magic show is a bit outdated and their gift shop could use a change for some of the items they sell to avoid being too tacky, but overall, it’s a wholesome and cost-effective way to spend a day!

Went to Chappell Farms as part of a class trip in late October. It was adorable. So many different animals which we were able to feed and interact with. The tractor ride was cute as there were multiple Halloween themed setups along the route. There was a little presentation on how pumpkins grow and a few different kinds of pumpkins that are grown on the farm. The staff were friendly and accommodating. There were areas for the kids to play and there was a corn maze and an inflatable maze which were both hits. There were plenty of port-a-potties on site and multiple benches throughout to sit and eat. At the end, we were able to each pick a small pumpkin which was a nice way to end our day. Overall it is a lovely farm with lots to do for the whole family. Will be coming back again!
