I've been here many times for different events. The building is always immaculately cleaned. Staff are friendly and is always a pretty good experience.
The flooring in this building is pure concrete and i personally find ever time i am here after 30 minutes my entire body is in pain and is for day afterwards. It doesnt matter what shoes i wear. This is their biggest downfall and there is NOWHERE to sit inside. I've had to sit on the floor to get relief. When I compare this to ANY other place I've been to. I can usually get around for 4-5hrs straight before i need to sit down for a break akd aome food. I'm contemplating if I should attend other cities events instead of my own. If they had indoor seating along the walls like most places or a designated aitting area inside the events i wpuld consider going back.
The parking price has increased and is now 10.00 at the entrance.
It can be fairly easy to get to by car bus or train.
Event staff have always been friendly and line times are very minimal.
I've been here for: Winter Glow Fest Music concert, Christmas markets, Geek markets, Comicons (main & seasonal) Rock & Gem show
The variety of events are fantastic.
I do wish it was closer to the heart of the city and not on the outskirts of town next to the airport but it isn't a long drive.
I wish for better floors (like the convention centre's in Toronto have it right. Event the flooring at the Ottawa Convention Centre.
Otherwise it's great!
BE AWARE:
During Comicon... expect all roads leading here to be at a stand still. Dont book a flight on comicon days. You need 2 extra hours to get to the airport in this case.
Expect to park off-site and in an unmowed field and full of mud dependent on weather, and you will pay the same price as on-site.
There is a shuttle bus, but they are not often enough so expect to...
Read moreI was at the EY Center today and I decided to contact you in addition to the 1-star review i'll be leaving.
While attending the event at your facility i approached a booth set up by Optimum Paintball. They sold me tickets to their paintball facility for a great discounted price and informed I could use these tickets to completely cover my sons upcoming birthday party.
When i walked away a younger gentleman approached me and informed me that Optimum Paintball does not own any fields. I was shocked and in disbelief, but i remained level headed and took a few minutes to do some reasearch. After a good google search i couldn't find any fields called Optimum Paintball.
I approached the booth again and asked the reps from Optimum Paintball and they ensured me that i could use the tickets at any field in the Ottawa area. I asked for a refund anyways but they said it's against their policy but kept saying i could use their tickets and it was a great deal.
I didn't know better so i took their word for it and left after walking around the rest of the booths.
When I got home I called Marked: Ultimate Adventure Park, a paintball field in Carleton Place and they informed me they did not accept the tickets and I had been scammed. I called Commando Paintball, in Navan, and got the same response.
Now i'm stuck with over 200$ in tickets and I have no idea where to use them, i feel like i've been completely scammed.
I'm extremely disapointed that the EY Center hosts these types of vendors and they should review their policy on who they allow to set up within their facility. I'll never trust Optimum Paintball again and i'll definately consider if i ever come back to the EY Center for an...

If youâre in Ottawa and havenât been to the EY Centre yet, itâs worth checking out â but manage your expectations depending on the event. Iâve been here a few times now, mainly for home reno expos and those fun (and sometimes chaotic) liquidation sales. Itâs a solid venue overall, but definitely has its quirks.
đč What I like: âą The space itself is huge â lots of room to breathe, walk around, and not feel crammed, even during busy events. âą Itâs well-maintained and clean, which goes a long way when youâre spending a few hours there. âą Parking is usually easy, with plenty of spots. âą Bonus: itâs right next to an LRT station, which makes it surprisingly accessible for public transit users.
đž What could be better: âą Itâs quite a bit out of the way if youâre coming from downtown. Feels like youâre halfway to the airport (which⊠you actually are). âą The interior is very plain â think âbig box warehouse meets airport hangar.â It gets the job done but donât expect wow-factor decor. âą Parking is usually $10, which is fine, but today was a weird case: signs said there was a $10 fee, but when you got there, parking was actually free. A nice surprise, but also confusing. If itâs free, they should clearly advertise that â it might actually bring more people out!
đŻ Pro Tip: Check the EY Centre website or the eventâs page for the latest parking info â you might just save yourself a tenner.
đž If youâre into home shows, gadget expos, or seasonal markets, this place sees a steady stream of them. You never know what kind of deals...
