Lemieux Island — Attraction in Ottawa

This hidden gem of a dog park was an amazing experience for me and my dog! He’s never had an opportunity to go swimming and therefore doesn’t know that he can! Everyone who was there with experienced pups offered support and advice on how to get him in the water. Some gentlemen even got in the water with him to coax him off the rocks! The folks who go here are kind and loving people who have kind and loving dogs. So if your pup isn’t friendly, please find another swimming hole or ensure your dog is always on leash if aggressive. There are several signs around the area that indicate dogs must be leashed. Although swimmers are off leash for obvious reasons, it is expected that owners be mindful of their dogs and how they interact with other dogs and owners. It’s a great summer spot so let’s keep...

It's very small. Not much to do here but a nice quiet place for a picnic or small area for your dog to walk or run around off leash.
