A fantastic place to spend the day. We spent a few hours paddling and fishing the waters surrounding the island. Lots of wildlife life, a huge beach and lots of parking. Well worth checking out if your in the area.

What a treasure! For a great adventure, rent a canoe at Oziles' Marina and paddle the channel west around the tip of the island, then back down the Ottawa River.

I’ve been a regular beach goer here for 15 years. So many spots to swim, trails, conservation area, Friends of Petrie Island, boat launch & rentals at Ozile’s Marina, cheap/free parking.. I could go on and on. Central building with bathrooms and fountains with a small restaurant serving fast food favourites, delicious drinks and alcohol ($$). Lots of picnic tables and propane BBQs (permit required)...

Large, clean beach with white sand. Great when there are no water quality warnings. Clean washrooms and walking trails for all abilities. Paid parking ($2/day) but the parking machines were missing when we were there in October 2023. Overall, decent place for a summer...

It's an ok place. If you live near Ottawa or Orleans and you can't travel far (1- 2 hours) this is a decent place for a beach. I would definitely recommend other places, but for a quick last minute picnic...
