One Mile Lake in Pemberton is a charming spot for those looking to enjoy nature and some peaceful outdoor activities. The views around the lake are quite scenic, with lovely mountains in the backdrop and tranquil water creating a relaxing atmosphere. While it’s not a vast area, there are a few places to sit and enjoy the view, making it a nice stop for a picnic or a quiet break.
However, parking can be a bit of a challenge. There are limited spots, and during peak times or weekends, you might have to wait or walk a bit if you don’t arrive early. Despite this, the lake is a popular spot for paddleboarding, with calm waters that make it perfect for beginners or anyone looking to have a leisurely paddle. You’ll often see people out on the water, enjoying the serenity.
One thing to note is that the lake isn’t considered safe for swimming. There are no lifeguards, and the water conditions can be unpredictable, so it’s best to stick to paddling or staying onshore.
Overall, One Mile Lake is a decent spot for outdoor activities if you’re in the Pemberton area, but it’s more suited for paddlers or those wanting a quiet place to relax rather...
Read moreIf I could give this place 10 stars I would!!. For the first time in decades, I was able to get right down to the water and even over the water, through the woods, along cliff faces all thanks to the boardwalks put.in place by the Rotary Club if Pemberton. You couldn't wipe the grin off my face and I didn't want to leave. I am mobility limited and use a mobility scooter to get around. The boardwalks and paths all the way around the lake are easily and truly accessible. I often find myself in a situation where a location has been promised as accessible but found when I get there it's only the parking or one of the bathrooms that is accessible. This park even has a huge patio overlooking the lake with a ramp for access and a picnic table at the top. There is...
Read moreWent mid August... I don't understand why this place is getting good reviews... I was afraid to go into the water as I may get swimmers itch.. it was full of Lilies and weeds and merky. We have been driving around BC and the GVRD looking for good dog friendly lakes. Yes the dogs can swim in this lake but from the parking lot you have to walk across the lake to the other side via the boardwalk (that was cute by the way) but when you get to the dog side again the water was so gross. Would not recommend this lake.. go to Haywood Lake in Mission or Buntzen...
